Does God still call prechers?

I am on the fence on this one. I cannot form a belief or opinion either way.
But it seems Paul would have been the last to be called.
After that,he anointed Timothy and placed him in office. Then told Titus to ordain elders and install them.
The qualifications in Timothy says if a man "desires"the office. Not if "God calls" to office.
But then too,God could be placing that desire there.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in Him of Whom they have not heard?
and how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach, except they be sent?
as it is written,
How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace,
and bring glad tidings of good things!'

Paul was a self-confessed Preacher, Teacher and Apostle to the Gentiles.
When the Lord ascended into Heaven He gave:-

'And He gave some, -
apostles;
and some, prophets;
and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors
and teachers;'​

(Eph 4:11)​

* Preachers are not mentioned are they? but evangelists, pastors and teachers.
