This is both a story,and a fact in life as well.First the story.The book of Luke tells us that all!! Not just some,but ALL of the tax collectors and the sinners were coming near to Jesus to listen to him. Now the Pharisees and the Scribes began to grumble! Saying " this man receives sinners and even eats with them!!!"
The Story of the parable is found in Luke 15:1-32 Please do read this.Who among us has not sinned? Who among us could ever tell another they are not worthy? But many do,and many forget what they themselves are as well! Rom 12:3 says For through the grace GIVEN!! to me I say to everyone among you,not to think more highly of himself then he ought to think;but to think so as to have sound judgement,as God has allotted to each!! a measure of Faith.
Is my measure greater then yours? This is impossible! It cannot!!Be So! For if it were then God would be showing me partiality!!( Acts 10:34) And he cannot do this! Can I be better then you?? NOPE!! Only if I am dumb enough to think I am!! In some of the forums we see such words spoken to some.
As if we who are speaking, know more then the person who has the question,or concern. Now I have seen much more understanding!! More scripture given!! MORE LOVE!! I feel better about this,because the writing I have been seeing as of late,point to hope,not to judgement,or despair. Jesus does still sit with sinners everyday!! Each one of us!
And when we ourselves understand this,then we can better understand another in him,through him,and yes by him. Some ask. Do I need to repent daily?? I ask do we not sin daily? Since we all know this to be so,then (Acts 3:19) holds in effect for each of us everyday.
Please do notice something in verse 19. Therefore repent and return so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from!!!! The very Presence of the Lord!! And who among us does not need this daily!! Many look at the presence of the Lord as if he himself is with you,well he is with you! He lives in us! Does his Holy Spirit not remind us many times during our day of this?
If not,then perhaps it is time we checked.Now the point! Each of you,even as I, have special gifts given,these gifts given are not to hid,but like water from a well,drawn unto the rest of us because each one of us has need.We sit with sinners because we are ones,Jesus sat with sinners not because he was one,but did so to show something to all of us! Love cannot be taken away from the darkness around it.Love shines out the darkness from around it. What we are to do,who we are to be,how we are to show that example, even as Jesus was for each of us!
I have seen more light of love here, then I have in a very long time. It is very refreshing!! Keep up the good work brothers and sisters!! And always remember,the words we use have great power,when we speak, think how you yourself would receive such words,in doing this,we keep the love,and lose the darkness!! amen!
