Hey, I'm Taylor and I'm 14 years old. This is my first post, and I'm not positive how to do this but you'll never learn if you don't try. I've grown up in the church all my life and my church is like my second home. I love going to church and I love God, don't get me wrong. But ever once and awhile I will doubt His existence, like what if it was all made up. Then other times, like after a mission trip or a really good service, I feel like there's no way it's all fake. The reason I'm sharing this is not necessarily to get a bunch of people telling me He is real. I'm sharing this to find out if anyone else ever has doubts. I like to know I'm not the only one in my problems.

Hi Taylor. I understand completely your inner conflict. It is played out mind vs. heart. The mind wants everything neatly ordered and logical. It sorts facts and verifies with its limited amount of facts. In fact, we can pretty much reason our way into accepting anything. This is the reason temptation can get the best of us. We reason our way into a fall. When we start wondering how far we can push something until it becomes wrong or a sin we are already on a slippery slope. Faith is above that. Faith is believing even when your mind is spinning. You can not reason through it and you can’t prove it with your senses, which is what the mind wants. This is purely and simply a matter of the heart. Rom 10:10 says: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. With the heart we can see more than the sum of the parts. When your mind starts the conflict you must counter with the heart. It is all about love and the relationship you have with Jesus. Feel it! The mind can concede the existence of love but it will never understand it and it can never prove it. Spend more time in prayer and really get to know him. This strengthens the heart and deepens faith.

It is completely ok to have doubts. Who does not doubt e.g. about the existence of God can never became a testamony. I would like to tell you a littlestory. Decide whether God had helped me or it was simply a chance:

I came just out of the savings bank where I had withdrawn money. I went in different business to buy something. I came home and could not find my purse. Panic seized me because I had to live on the money in the stock exchange a whole month. I searched intensively in all bags. No purse there. I then prayed and my pulse got more quiet. I said God, what had happened and asked for him for his help. A feeling in my heart that God would help me. And he helped me! When I took the garbage to the trash can, I found my purse hidden nearby the front door in the grass ( the janitor seldom cuts the grass so that it could not be seen. The money was completely there. The documents (passportand driver's license) were just as available as my credit card. I ran into my apartment, fell on the knees and thanked God.

I know, that there is God. I do not need to see him to know that he is there. And that he loves me.
