Of the two-- forgiveness vs. acquittal --I prefer acquittal because forgiveness
leaves traces on the books, whereas acquittal leaves no traces.

For example; files are to be opened at the scene depicted by Rev 20:11-15. I've no
doubt that quite a few of the "works" in those files are forgiven works; yet there
they are to be reckoned with because the offender, though forgiven, wasn't
acquitted-- roughly defined as an adjudication of innocence due to lack of sufficient
evidence to convict.

Rom 4:25 . . He was delivered over to death for our sins, and was raised to life
for our justification.

The Greek word translated "justification" roughly pertains to a verdict of innocence
which, in my estimation, is a whole lot better than a pardon.

* Note that Jesus' crucifixion alone wasn't sufficient to gain folks an acquittal, viz:
had his crucified dead body not been restored to life, we'd all remain in very grave
danger of facing justice at the great white throne event.

1Cor 15:17 . . If Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless, and you
are still under condemnation for your sins.

Christ's followers are counted as joint participants in his crucifixion. (Rom 6:3, Rom
6:6, Gal 2:20)

They are also counted as joint participants in his resurrection. (Rom 6:4-5)

So then, seeing as Christ will never again be put to death for sin, and from now on
be permanently immortal (Rom 6:9-10) then the same is true for his joint
participants, i.e. never again will they be in danger of the wages of sin, and should
make an effort to accept that they have immortality in the bag. (Rom 6:11)

FAQ: So; how would an interested party go about obtaining this acquittal about
which you speak?

REPLY: It's available upon request.

Find a quiet place, anywhere will do. Cover you face with your hands for a sense of
privacy and tell God you have never yet measured up to His standards and you're
pretty sure you never will. Tell Him you would like to take advantage of His son's
death and resurrection; and thank Him for His time.

Gen 2:7 . . The Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into
his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

The miraculous process that gave the first man life and existence is not all that
different from the process that restored Jesus' crucified dead body to life.

I should think that if someone can believe in the creation of Man, then believing in
Jesus' resurrection would be even easier to accept 'cause God had to first construct
a body for Adam whereas Jesus' body was completed; all set to go, ready and
waiting in the tomb.

And Jesus' soul was already in existence too. So it was a simple matter for God to
recombine Jesus' principal elements in order to bring him back from death per
Ps 16:8-10 & Acts 2:25-31.

"Easter" derived from Ishtar/Ashtoreth, a false middle eastern goddess. This holiday is a pagan version of the First Fruit (Lev. 23:9-14), the real holiday to commemorate the resurrection of the Lord.

Mark 15:43-45 . .Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who
was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for
Jesus' body. Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the
centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. When he learned from the
centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph.

Even if Jesus had somehow managed to survive crucifixion, he would've certainly
died from suffocation later during the preparation of his body for burial.

They first cocooned him with a paste made from a mixture of myrrh and aloes; and
not just a thin film of it, but seventy-five pounds of the stuff. Then put a towel over
his face and secured it by wrapping his head with strips of cloth. Then they wound
his entire body with the same materials; and then wrapped him all up like a burrito
in a large linen sheet. In other words: Jesus wasn't just buried, he was packaged.

There's no evidence to link "Easter" to "Ishtar". More likely the etymology is the old German "eostarum" which means "dawn". Easter is thoroughly Christian, not pagan.

The Lord and Savior I know rose on the Feast of First Fruits. Easter is but a golden calf, a false idol of the real thing, regardless of its origin.

At one point in Jonah's nautical adventure, he was in a place called sheol; which he
located at the bottoms of the mountains. (Jonah 2:2 & Jonah 2:6)

According to Ps 16:10 & Acts 2:25-31; Jesus spent some time at the bottoms of the
mountains too.

Was his arrival a surprise visit? Well; I rather suspect that a huge welcome was all
set and waiting for Jesus like a Trump rally that included not only Christ's father
David, but also every inspired person who ever lived, e.g. Abel, Enoch, Noah,
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, Deborah, Samuel, Solomon, and all
the prophets. And along with the luminaries, many thousands of ordinary folk. What
a commotion that must've been!

Along with the justification discussed in post No.1 is the opportunity for our own
resurrections.

1Pet 1:3-6 . . Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his
great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or
fade-- kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until
the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

The salvation ready to be revealed in the last time is most likely the resurrection
that Paul spoke of in Rom 8:23-25, 1Cor 15:12-57, and 1Thess 4:13-18. In other
words; had not Jesus' crucified dead body been restored to life, his followers
would've had no hope of bouncing back from death, i.e. his made theirs possible.

Amen, brother.

About the wonderful event of Jesus' Resurrection, I would like to comment of His apparition to the disciples exclusively, when Jesus arose up from the grave:

John 21:1-7
1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.
2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.
3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing.
They say unto him, We also go with thee.
They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

MEANWHILE, JESUS WAS ON THE BEACH / SHORE WAITING FOR THE DISCIPLES TO RETURN FROM FISHING
4 But when the morning was now come, JESUS stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was JESUS.
5 Then JESUS saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

THE DISCIPLES HAD NOTHING TO EAT, THEY HAD FISH NOTHING
6 And JESUS said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
7 Therefore that disciple whom JESUS loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord.

WITH JESUS LEADING US, THERE IS PLENTY FOOD
8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
10 JESUS saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. Come and dine.
12 And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

I remember that Hebrews 1:1-3 says, as follow:
1 GOD, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days (last two days or around 2000 years) spoken unto us by His Son, whom GOD hath appointed heir of all things (Hallelujah!), by whom also He made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of His Glory, and the EXPRESS IMAGE of GOD's Person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

ON THE OTHER HAND, ABOUT OUR RESURRECTION - ROMANS 6: 1 to 11

We know that as many as have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death. (verse 3)

Oh yes, great mystery.
Being baptized into JESUS's death, and buried with Him by baptism into death, so our old man was crucified with Him - (verse 4). Hallelujah! It's wonderful.
Oh yes, great mystery, the body of sin was destroyed (there is a new birth), that henceforth we should serve sin no more-(verse 6). He that is DEAD is freed from sin (verse 7). Hallelujah!

Therefore, if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father. (verse 5)

So, we should walk in newness of life - (verse 4). Amen.

Philippians 3: 20-21

20 Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

We know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is -1John 3:2. Amen.
