In the Holy words of God we see the mention of the book of life, which contains the names of the living. But we also see the mention of other books, which the dead are judged out of as is also written. Notice the first resurrection is to the blessed and Holy as is mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Notice there are 2 separate resurrections mentioned in Revelation chapter 20. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
I would say the first resurrection is to the living because we are told they are blessed and Holy and also the second death has no power over them. Notice it is “the righteous” who have their names written in the book of “the living”. It is written in Psalm 69:28 “Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.”
It is also written that Jesus said God is not a God of “the dead”, but of “the living”. And we see in Daniel 12:1 the first to be delivered are those whose names are written in God’s book of life. And we know by the words of God that the first judgment begins with the house of God. So there is an order of the judgment determined, the first is to the saints; as is also written in Daniel 7:22 and Daniel 12:2.
But notice we are told in Revelation 20:5 the rest of the dead were not resurrected until after the thousand years are fulfilled. And also notice they are judged out of the other books according to their works. And notice only those who do not have their names written in the book of life are cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death.
So you either have your name written in the book of life, or your name is blotted out of the book of life. And we know by the words of God what gets your name blotted out of God’s book of life, and that is sin. Exodus 32:33 33 And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.”
So in order to keep your name from being blotted out of the book of life, you must have your sins blotted out of the other book; which I will call the book of the dead. It is written in Nehemiah 4:5 “And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.”
But God is able to blot out our transgressions…
Psalm 51:1
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Psalm 51:9
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Isaiah 43:25
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Isaiah 44:22
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
Colossians 2:14
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
So those are "blessed", whose sins have been blotted out, as is also written.
I believe one of the other books contains all the sins that sinners have committed, that is those sins that have not been blotted out. This in turn causes their names to be blotted out of the book of life. It is written in Psalm 109:13-14 “Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out. Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.”
And we read in Jeremiah 18:23 “Yet, Lord, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.”
So because of their sins, their names are blotted out of the book of life. This again confirms what the mark of the man/beast is because those who worship the red Dragon and the beast image by serving sin do not have their names written in God’s book of Life. It is written in Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the face of the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
I believe one of the other books mentioned contains the words and law of God, by which God shall judge the world. Just as Christ is the Word of God by which all the world shall be judged. Notice what Jesus says here….John 5:22-29
Paul said in Romans 2:12 “For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law.” And we are also told that there is One Lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy; and that One Law giver is Christ.
Now even though no flesh shall be justified by the works of the law, this does not mean that those who have their names written in the book of life are not required to overcome and walk in righteousness. It is written in Revelation 3:5 “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.”
We either produce fruit unto Life by serving righteousness, or fruit unto death by serving sin. Romans 7:5 “For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.”
And the opposite fruit is shown here in Romans 6:22 “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.”
But the only way we can bear good fruit is by abiding in Christ as Jesus said in John 15:4 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
When we overcome we get the victory over the mark of sin, and we also get the victory over the name, which is Death. And this victory is only achieved by having faith in Jesus Christ, and by His sacrifice for our sins we have the forgiveness of sin; that is to say we have our sins blotted out.
And when we are born again from above we are then given a new white garment and a new name which pertains to the living, even the name of Life that is found in Christ; which is The Lord our Righteousness.
Revelation 2:17
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Revelation 3:12
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Keep your garments clean from the stain of sin. Be good and be blessed.

22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
Paul said in Romans 2:12 “For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law.” And we are also told that there is One Lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy; and that One Law giver is Christ.
