This poem came to me while I was in my high school senior year
Creative Writing class in 1999. I was imagining how the "Rapture"
will be like using parts of scriptures from the New Testament.
Hope you all enjoy!
ETERNITY by Jason Russo
We flew through the sky; it was past the darkest
hour.
Tears no longer, for Death and Hell had no more
power.
There was peace at last at the final trumpet blast.
He called us forth with His mighty, thundering voice,
bringing us to safety amidst earth's noise.
The powers of evil could no longer withstand His
omnipotent, righteous hand.
Having fought many battles, His elect had endured
the war.
Now singing and praising with the angels, we are
together with the Father and His Son forevermore!
