Joey, Could you give an example situation, like even a hypothetical situation so we know what you mean exactly?

When an enemy attacks you, you must choose to defend yourself or to run away or to simply stand there with all of your defenses down and receive whatever he hits you with...

There were times when Jesus refused to open his mouth to defend himself, even though we know that he was never at fault.

At other times Jesus opened his mouth and spoke truths which astonished those who were listening.

At times the opposers of Jesus would have stoned him or otherwise killed him, but he recognizing it was not God's will removed himself from the situation.

So what is your choice in your situation? Ecc chapter 3: 1-8 gives our alternatives, but only God always knows what our choice should be in every situation. For us to know for ourselves, we need to communicate with Him. Jesus explained:

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:" John 10:27

Paul's words may help us to understand how to be able to hear his voice:

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Rom 10:17

It is all so very simple and yet so very complex. It is simple when we are led by the Holy Spirit, but it is complex when we try to figure it all out and lead ourselves.

And how do you figure out how to be Led by the Holy Spirit? I know that when we are saved, God seals us with the Holy Spirit ...but how do we become led by him? ....sounds like a very wise answer.. the whole of it! Just curious how you get there ;)

We must first recognize the Master's voice. There are many other voices speaking to us. When we are his sheep we will recognize his voice. How do we come to that recognition? By asking for and continuing to ask for his help.

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matt 7:7

We need to ask for his help in every step of the way.
