I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, 'May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours. Mark 11:23-24 NLT

Jesus’ point is that God can do mountain-sized works in our lives—problems we thought we’d never overcome or relationships we feared would never heal. We can pray mountain-sized prayers or miniscule ones—no detail escapes God’s notice. Even a little bit of faith on our part sets Him in motion, so it makes no sense to doubt Him.

Doubt comes when we approach God without humility, seeking our agenda instead of His will. Doubt hardens our hearts when we fail to recall God’s promises or refuse to confess any sins that might be blocking the path between us.

Once our hearts are in order, we can pray with trust that, from there, God will sort out what He can do. And while He can do anything in keeping with His character and nature, He is also aware of every person at every point along history’s time line—past, present, and future—and He will do what pleases Him and brings Him glory. And few things bring God greater glory than loving you well.

Prayer: Father in heaven, almighty God, You can do anything, including helping me with the tough situation I’m in now. Get my heart right with You so I can rejoice in Your will.
