That we do not receive our petitions from God does not mean that we do not have Faith or that we have not prayed enough. The Lord could be saying either yes, no or wait.

However, the Lord Jesus teaches us that there is a kind of faith that moves the Lords hands:

Mat 15:28 Then answering, Jesus said to her, O woman great is your faith; let it be to you as you desire. And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Mat 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

This means that there is a small faith and there is great faith. There is always room to increase in faith.

Faith likened to a mustard seed:

This means that our faith must grow...
Like a tiny mustard seed that becomes one of the greatest trees.

Now to go further,

worry = unbelieve
unbelieve = idolatry
worying about our problems = idolatry

When we worry we are saying that the problem or situation is greater than the Lord. Hence, we are magnifying (worshipping) the problem above God.

The opposite of worry is Rest.

Heb 4:9 Therefore there remaineth a REST to the people of God.

We must pray for faith to believe God, the kind that brings REST

The Lord will move when he sees faith, remember, there is a kind of faith that moves God's hands. This is that knid of faith, a faith that rests.

It can only be got through ASKING and hearing from the Word of God (the Lord Jesus).

There is an old joke about a young cellist who hailed a taxicab in New York City and said to the cabbie, as he loaded his cello into the back seat, "How do you get to Carnegie Hall?" The cabbie answered, "Practice..... practice..... practice."

I believe that faith grows through "practice, practice, practice." Each time we decide to believe God for something we are fertilizing and watering our mustard seed faith plant. The more we nurture it, the more it grows. The more it grows, the more people are blessed through it.

Let him make his request in faith, doubting nothing; for he who has doubt in his heart is like the waves of the sea, which are troubled by the driving of the wind. (James 1:6)

Great thread brother, very encouraging. I love the very simple thing that Jesus says in all four gospels.

Matthew 21:22
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours

Luke 11:10
For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened

John 16:24

Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full
