And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, Revelation 11:16 ESV
Just after the seventh angel blows his trumpet, loud voices from heaven will say, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15 ESV). That leads the twenty-four elders, who are believed to represent the church, to fall on their faces to worship God.
How could they do anything but worship? And how can you do anything but worship here and now? You’ve been redeemed, justified, and are in the process of being sanctified. You are heaven bound if you have believed in Jesus and His atoning work on the cross for your sins. The proper response is worship.
What does your worship look like currently? Do you practice private worship during the week, maybe even falling to your knees or on your face? Do you regularly gather with other saints for corporate worship on the weekends, singing the praises of the Lord? If not, now is the time to start. By doing so, you’ll get a small taste of eternity.
Prayer: Lord, my heart often runs cold and leads me away from worship. Forgive me. For I want to honor You for everything You’ve done for me.
