I was reading a devotional just now, and the writer related an incident with a local high school football player where they were discussing all the great things that had happened to him that year: He had wanted four things; a championship, a scholarship, more friends and a closer family and had achieved all four. But with tears in his eyes, he asked the writer "Then why am I so empty?
After reading those words, I had a wonderful realization: I'm no longer empty!

I'm filled with the love of Jesus Christ and many of the things I used to worry about are now mere trifles. Mind you, I'm still not where I should be, but I have the trust I lacked before. Even in the years after I went off the 'walk', I had the knowledge that the good things in my life came from God and that he was still looking out for me, though I was so distracted by the things satan put in my way.

After reading that devotional and the words "Why am I so empty?", I could no longer relate because I'm NOT empty! I do understand their puzzlement, but it no longer applies to me! I have the assurance that should all my loved ones turn against me, or even the world for that matter, I have the undying, unconditional, eternal love of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!! And I'm always in the protecting, loving hands of my Heavenly Father, who knew me before he created the world.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, You are the one True God, worthy of all Praise and Glory!

This is what I needed to hear tonight, new member. And welcome!

I used to be so "with it," but lately . . . well since I've become a Christian, it seems people at work are spreading rumors about me, and even my friends don't seem to want anything to do with me anymore. But, I forget that it's not an easy road I am on now, and if those around me did still include me, then nothing would have changed in me, and I would still be "of this world."

Thanx for the insight. I'm cool . . . still cool. . . to God anyway. :shade:

That's right, HoneyBare, and thanks for the welcome!

I've noticed many changes in my thinking and He's always never far from my thoughts. Some things that were important to me before aren't that important now.

Amen! I needed that reminder because it is so easy to look around me and see how alone I am in this world and of course that leads to despair. I spent so many years with that empty feeling but praise be to Jesus. He is the healer and comforter! Thank you for posting this!

My friend once told me that Christianity is not for wimps. How very true. It takes courage and strength to go against the grain; to walk in a different direction than the rest of the crowd.

But everything I've gone through...the ups and the downs...walking through valleys I didn't even know existed...are all worth it. Just to be with Jesus.
