"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt 11:28-30
If we are able to take on His yoke, then as Jesus says, it is "easy". The difficult thing for men is to get there... to that yoke.
What is a yoke? It is a device used to connect a team of work animals (oxen, mules, horses, etc.) together so that they must work together, the strongest one adding to the weakest. If we are yoked together with Jesus, there is no doubt who will be the strongest, the Leader. There is no doubt who will be adding to whom.
Once we are there with His yoke on us, we will not even have to think about professing or confessing our faithfullness, it will simply happen.
Our difficulty is really coming onto to Him (Jesus) completely and continuously so as to be yoked completely and continuously with Him. Here we must ask, and ask again, repeatedly, for as long as we are in this race in our flesh. The race will continue until the flesh is dead. What we do with the time we are given within this flesh will determine our end.
Will it be a easy walk with Jesus, or will it be a continuously difficult struggle agains all of those things of this natural life which confront us? It will be difficult if we keep trying to lead the fight ourselves. We are to be yoked with Him, not pulling Him along behind us! The secret again is in the coming onto Jesus and staying there and alway letting Jesus be the Head, the Leader, the Director of all that we are.
So again the answer to keep on asking for help in surrendering to Him!
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matt 7:7
