So my roommate and I have a debate going on. Mainly we were focused on girls opinions, but the question is being expanded to all humans for the sake of this post.

In the hypothetical situation please reply with what you would choose.

There are two people of the opposite sex from you. They are both "perfect for you" and are the same in every way accept for the following differences.

Person #1 has a heavy focus on physical fitness and is in tip top shape but will never make more than $30k a year.
Person #2 is heavily career focused and will bring home a 6 figure salary or at least close to it, but is not as concerned with fitness. (Not obese but not in shape either).

If you had your pick... Who would you choose?
Please include your age range if you are kind enough to answer... teens, 20s, 30s...etc.

Thanks for helping in our debate :)

Finding a mate isn't like buying a car. Do I want low mileage or four wheel drive? The two scenarios sound kind of superficial to me as far as choices in how or whom to choose. My best advice would be , instead of 'looking' for the right person...., BE the right person!! Then allow God to direct your path.

Well, regardless of your choice, it will probably end in a separation or divorce due to what you are valuing as a reason for choosing.

I'm female, 32, never been married, no kids. My answer is get into the hood of the car. Get to know a person first. Yeah, choice A is probably hot but she could be self centered & narcissistic & that's why she's hot. Choice B could be a cynical, cold hearted obsessed person who stepped on others to succeed. So basically, you need to give more details before we can pick one.

I'm a 33 year-old housewife. Been married almost 10 years, be 10 in July. My husband is fitness conscious for health reasons (he has diabetes and wants to be a healthy weight as do I), but is self-employed which means we are not financially well off. The reason I married him was his love for God above all, even me. His next ministry is me. That's the way it should be.

Do you REALLY want a woman who chooses one or the other of these hypothetical choices over the most important part of a Christian? If you ARE a Christian, it should be VERY VERY IMPORTANT to know if their faith is as important to them as yours is to you AND if they have their priorities straight. The other things are just preferences that will be different for each and every person.

To make it clear, the proper list for priorities for a Christian is:

1. God/Jesus/Holy Spirit
2. Spouse
3. Children
4. Other family
5. Friends
6. Job/Ministry

of course sometimes #6 will have to be done to provide for family needs, but if you keep God first in all you do (even on the job!), you are well ahead of everyone.

Find someone who has those priorities in order and you have found a good person. Most likely, God will give you the green light to go after them, too. Of course, YOU have to do the work (i.e. Read the Word, pray, etc).

Hope this helps. :)

Very thought provoking question, lets see....

I'm within the age range of 25-30
I would choose
Person #1 has a heavy focus on physical fitness and is in tip top shape but will never make more than $30k a year. Health comes first, healthy body, healthy mind. We can put our pennies together and live comfortably.

Person #2 would have a higher stress level because of the workload.
