From Me Is Your Fruit Found (Hos 14:8)
“Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is your fruit found.”
One of the most humbling things that I must go through is grabbing hold of Christ, in spite of my sin. The temptation is to DISREGARD the gospel and go off to another hope because I’m wretched. But, the only hope that I have is Christ. Thus, if I disregard the gospel, I forsake my own mercy. It is only the gospel that brings forth fruit in me, even as God says, “From me is your fruit found”.
Indeed, the believer brings forth fruit to God, but it comes from Him and it comes to us by the cross. The gospel is the means God uses to bring fruit in our life, but that is the gospel believed (Rom 1:16). So, wherever you are, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall bring forth the fruits of salvation – (Acts 2:38) “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, & be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, & you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (hc)
