How has knowing Jesus changed your life? Standard question, right? But your answer matters. You have your God story to tell, and because of the power of the gospel, your account of the difference He has made to you carries weight in the hearts of people you’ve never met.
Certainly, your actions should support your words—but you need the words. If you’re not sure how to tell your story, use God’s words. For example, Romans 6:4 explains the power behind our new lives: “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
You’ve often heard that you need to read the Bible regularly, daily even, and the analogy of putting gas in your car or charging your phone works well enough. On any given day, God will put people and opportunities in your path that only His Word can prepare you to meet. Like the writer of today’s scripture verse, you will learn both the practical value of being fueled up and the joy of knowing God better. The power of your new life comes from Jesus, God’s living Word.
Prayer: Jesus, my Lord and Savior, reconnect me with You through Your Word. Use it to keep me close to You and to prepare me each day for whatever You have in store for me.
