It just so happens that my online search for images of being yoked to Christ has led me here. For the past two weeks God has been giving me challenging messages to preach to all people. There are certain concepts He keeps repeating. One of them goes with Matthew 11:28-30. His words to me are, "Take my yoke upon you for my burden is light." No paraphrasing here. So this morning I felt prompted to study further just what this means for us today and what it meant during New Testament times as Paul was preaching this message. It confirms some important ideas about what else God has been speaking to me. The biggest message God is trying to convey is the idea of FULL SUBMISSION. I place emphasis on these words because He made it clear to me that being fully submitted means bowing down to Him and submitting every area of our lives to Him. This is a very challenging message for me personally. I find myself asking the question, "What does this look like for me today?" I find peace that Jesus and I are yoked together. He carries most of the load. His burden is light and so I am called to trust and obey in every way. I am reminded of Abraham's journey in Genesis 12. It says in verse 1,“Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you. (New English Translation)
Trust and obey, That's what Abraham did. He did not know where he was going. He had to trust God to lead him all throughout the day in every way. Right now this is how I've been living. God is calling us to cling to Him because if we don't our burden will be heavy and that full, abundant life will not be ours to live. Living the abundant life requires full submission to Him. He is calling for all believers to be rooted in Him so He can provide us with the living water that only comes through Jesus. This morning I find myself on my knees in surrender because that is what God is calling me to do.

Hello from across the river.
This seems to be a forgotten message in many churches today. The majority seem to be saying "do what you want".
We've become Nacrcissist Christians.. it's all about us. "Just who does this God guy think He is anyway... where does He get off telling us what to do?"

Unfortunately many messages here on TalkJesus echo the same message (not in so many words). But welcome here.

Hello, back. Thank you for your feedback and support. We not only need God but we also need each other.
