Fundamentalism.

What is fundamentalism?
Is it a good or bad thing?
Are you a fundamentalist?
The main Christian Fundamentalist belief is in the infallibility of the Bible. (This is one step beyond what the Bible itself claims - that all scripture is inspired by God).

My observation is that culturally fundamentalism leads to an anti intellectual approach to the world - 'The Bible says, so that's the end of the conversation'.

As opposed to the anti-fundamentalist, who says "Even though the Bible says this, that's not really what it means". ;)

Or to say that the Bible is a complex, multi-layered and multi-textured set of inspired texts that requires discernment and sensitivity to handle correctly.
