How do you worship and praise the Lord at your Church
Singing popular gospel songs and choruses; followed by an opening hymn.
Definitely no raising of hands, nor dancing or other happy clappy conduct. Worship does not require emotionalism,
but rather a deep understanding about God as our Redeemer, our Lord and Master, our new life in Him.
Worship also is conducted through the teaching of doctrine and upholding the truth and sanctity of the Word.
Worship is also done weekly by the taking of communion - grape juice & wafer biscuit - Communion is fundamental to worship
in giving thanks and reverence to Jesus as our Saviour and Redeemer.
The epistles write often about thanksgiving for all that our Lord accomplished for his church, the saints.
And yet so many denominations make communion an optional extra, done now and then.
We worship our Lord and our Father by setting aside our Sundays and not partaking in the usual sports or tourist enjoyments that
occupy most people. We put aside worldly entertainment and other alternatives for amusement on Sundays.
By giving value to coming together as a Church we worship our Redeemer and our Father by giving time for this and commitment
to recognising the importance and value of Jesus in our lives and salvation.
We worship through obedience to the gospel and upholding the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles.
We worship through our daily prayers and thanksgiving.
Worship also needs humility. The understanding that we were first loved, and whilst we were yet sinners, Christ Jesus
died for us. Of ourselves we are nothing, we were destined for death.
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of
the saints in light:
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom
of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
