Your name, O LORD, endures forever; your fame, O LORD, is known to every generation. For the LORD will give justice to his people and have compassion on his servants. Psalm 135:13-14 NLT
Recent polls indicate that many who call themselves Christians are moving away from biblical truth. Significant percentages of churchgoers are saying that trusting Jesus isn’t necessary for salvation, that hell doesn’t exist, or that Jesus is not the only way to heaven. It happens most often as they drift from God’s Word toward cultural trends.
However, truth is based on God Himself. He is eternal, unchanging, and all-powerful. His are the only words that can ever be fully trusted. God’s truth can only be discovered, never invented. When we embrace it, it supersedes our biases and agendas, replacing them with a grounding in something bigger than ourselves, greater than the world and all its relentless reinvention of reality.
As the psalmist said, “I know the greatness of the Lord—that our Lord is greater than any other god” (Psalm 135:5). When we stick to Him, especially when the world says we’re outdated and bigoted for doing so, we anchor ourselves to the only source of truth. God will vindicate and strengthen us when we remain loyal to Him.
Prayer: God, You are truth. Anything that doesn’t come from You is a lie. Build my life on the rock of Your Word and Your ways.
