God’s Plans

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time--to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:9 NLT

What is your plan for today? According to Paul, God’s highest goal for you is to show you grace, to break the power of death, and to lead you toward a holy life. You may have plenty of plans for today, including some time with your family to go trick-or-treating. Yet there is one plan that should be honored above all others. If you can place God’s presence before everything else, you’ll find that the power of sin and death over you can be broken.

The work of Jesus has already been completed on your behalf. You only need to receive what God has already given you. There is no mystery anymore about how to find God or how to lead a good, holy life. Seek Jesus today, and let His plans shape and direct the choices you make. Along the way, you will find that God’s grace and mercy can overcome any doubts you may feel about God or about your own worthiness.

Prayer: Help me, Jesus, to receive the new life You give and Your power over sin and death.

If we replace the word, 'plan' with 'will', the picture changes... or becomes more (better) focused as we both, can see more clearly from God's perspective, and we can also gear up what we plan, to that which is our will to do, with determination that a mere plan can not contain.... unless, of course, our plan is to do the will of God.

Try re-reading the Devotional, swapping plan with will and see if you appreciate what the Devotional is expressing with more distinct purpose.
