"I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you.” 2 Kings 20:5 NKJV
How do you know the difference between God’s intervention and random chance, between God’s providence and more coincidence? In one form or the other, this is one of the first questions asked by new believers. Some never stop wondering it. So how do you know the difference?
Several times in 2 Kings 19 and 20, the details in God’s intervention are so specific, there is no doubt God stepped into both Hezekiah’s and Isaiah’s lives.
In Acts 10, Peter and Cornelius both experienced the precision of God’s involvement in new revelation and in physical healing. The Lord’s presence was obviously in the details.
In psalm 104, God wraps and makes and sets and brings. His involvement in the workings of this world disavows chance. He likes to be asked specific requests and loves to answer them in detail.
When you pray, do you pray with God’s precision in mind? Do you ask attaching details? When you do it’s easier to know that the good that comes your way actually comes from Him—not coincidence or chance.
As seen above, God told Hezekiah, “I have heard your prayers and I have seen your tears; I will heal you.” He hears your specific prayers and responds to them. You can find Him in the details.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to pray in detail so that I can find You in them.
