God is Beautiful

Hello friends, I became a Christian in 2005 and I used to post on this forum under the name Wittywriter. I was so young then! I would post poetry like my poem Broken. Hello again to you all. I wanted to share my poem I wrote called Beautiful about how beautiful God is!!

BEAUTIFUL

The butterflies dance about with their silky, delicate wings. Amongst the pretty flowers; the air fills with music as birds uniquely sing

The royal blue peacock fans her feathers about in glorious array. Like a queen ready to lead a colorful animal parade.

With mesmerizing golden eyes the lion runs about and leaps; enjoying his strength as he roars with fearsome teeth.

Magnificently the horses gallop, running through the breeze. With soulful eyes and velvety hair they carry humans where they need to be.

Who then is the one who designed all this beauty?

It is the Lord on His glorious throne: surrounded by light; with rainbows and streets of gold

His beauty shines more bright than a billion stars that twinkle in the night; pondering His eternal love soothes like a sweetest lullaby

In Him true beauty is defined; astonishing us as surely as a spectacular sunrise.

Imagining the beauty of His holy face is a daydream for when we wake; we lift up a song of praise

Embrace the beauty of our Maker’s grace in still moments by vibrant flowing streams; under the dazzling sunlight the water sparkles with glassy sheen

Breathtaking mountains rise so high that clouds encompass the peak: inspiring humans to climb and accomplish a great feat

Behold the roaring power of waterfalls with radiant rainbows forming in their mist. Humans travel from afar to gaze transfixed.

Endless beauty fills God’s creation let’s take the time to thank the Lord our King. The Creator of earth, to be cherished by every living thing!

Looking at your OP today, once more, my mind went to what is said about the physical appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ in the flesh, both before and following His treatment at the hands of the Roman soldiers. Isaiah 53 tells us that in Him there was no beauty that we should desire Him.

A person's life experience becomes etched upon the face: anxiety and sorrow marks us, doesn't it? Lining our face with the downward lines of oppression and grief; But our Lord bore our sorrows and was acquainted with our grief we are told, so He would have born the marks associated with that. He was also wounded for our transgressions, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. We are told also in Isa 52:14 that His physical appearance and form was so marred, more than any man's.

So the depiction of the Lord in both fresco and oil painting alike, showing Him unmarred and beautiful to behold, is giving an untrue portrayal of Him. He will still bear the marks of the crown of thorns on His forehead, and the imprints of the nails in His hands and feet, for we are told in Zechariah 12:10 that the returning Christ will be seen by the occupants of Jerusalem, and recognised as the One Whom they had pierced, and they will mourn for Him with great bitterness, for God will pour upon them the spirit of grace and supplication.

We no longer know Christ after the flesh, but in spirit: but those who did know Him in the days of His flesh, who handled Him, and saw Him with their eyes, who lay on His chest, and drew great comfort from His presence: Following His departure, spake not of His physical form, but witnessed of the life (eternal life) that He manifested as the Word of Life (1 John 1:1-3).

In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
