Just before this happened, I was focusing on my problems and depressed.
I stopped all thought as someone suggested and just listened and felt the world around me.
The birds were singing as I opened up my ears and heart to hear and see and experience God's
world. Birds don't just sing their wings flutter.
The wind on your face feels good, warm, pleasent. It told me I'm alive and it felt good.
The smaller trees in the park waved as the wind move through them.
It was dusk and I could hear the crickets chirping. In the distance, I kept hearing this different sound.
I thought maybe it was a strange bird. Then way at the other side of the park, in the dusky light, I could see two romping, bouncing black dogs. The dogs were making yapping sounds. Their owners were playing games with them,
yet keeping them near with short commands.
The grass was green, smells were fresh, life was going on all around me and I joined in.
At first all the vehicles were an intrusion but then I noticed you could hear the difference
between newer cars, older cars, trucks, old vans and motorcycles.
Sounds, the power of good cars, the loudness of a tailpipe with a hole in it.
The putting and maybe pinging of older cars. The sound of a motorcycle is neat when it flies
down the highway.
The wind on my face feels good. I read my bible and and pray. It says He is with me,
He loves me. I feel secure in Him.
One more look at the dogs and I listened to the birds settling in their nest for the night.
I walk home wondering why I didn't do this before.
