Hi I am Suresh from Bangalore, India...I have known Jesus Christ from past 13 years and my faith in him is very strong and good. But I am dissappointed with his so called his beleivers and I find them most of the time like hypocrates.

I have had experience with people who run bible schools and who shared gospel to me and guided me to Salvation. All have been that manner.

I am from a Hindu background and I have found lot of people, though they are not christians have reflected Jesus through them.

Why is that the Christian community knowingly....befooling themselves?

Sincerely,
Gopanahally Thippeswamy Suresh Kumar(G.T. Suresh Kumar)

Hello GT. Welcome to TJ. Your concern about the Christian community reflects what's on my mind too.

I know what you are talking about because I have seen some people like that. I have read posts of Christians which attack those who do not believe instead of urging them into the light. Some of them attack each other. This is sad, really. But what should we do about it? Maybe we should first try to understand what is going on in their lives, or their background. Some Christians who rise to power (even if just a little) becomes vulnerable to that enemy called Pride if they are not careful. Pride is the most cunning of all enemies, because we do not see it coming from behind our backs. We should try to see the reality of what the battle is all about.

"For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world" -Ephesians 6:12

Next step?
Even if we are wearing God's armor, if we forget the Cloak of Humility, we still become easy targets for Pride. Many Christians, after putting on God's armor, forgets to wear this cloak which is really God's grace given to us. We should always, always, wear this cloak so our eyes will not be blinded by Pride.

"Be always HUMBLE, GENTLE and PATIENT. Show your love by being tolerant with one another. Do your best to preserve the unity which the Spirit gives by means of the peace that binds you together." (Ephesians 4:2,3)

Next? "Do not rebuke an older man, but APPEAL to him as if he were your father. Treat the younger man as if he were your brothers, the older women as mothers, and the younger women as sisters, with all purity." (I Timothy 5:1,2)

Lastly, "Do all these in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occassion as the Spirit leads. For this reason, KEEP ALERT AND NEVER GIVE UP; PRAY FOR ALL GOD'S PEOPLE." (Ephesians 6":18)

Keep running the race GT, keep fighting the good fight, and keep the faith.God bless you, bless you, bless you!..

"GOD meaning..?" Are you asking a question, or making an observation?

Hi there

Well...its not a question....It's a frustration. I am scared to associate with the Christian these days. I know there some people like that but I have known most of the people here in India take His Ministry for living and to make money. These days its become so commercial and attraction. I believed that Jesus asked us to let HIM live through us.

Because of this reason I didnt want to marry a girl from Christian baground. I married a Hindu a girl.

Greetings brother and welcome to the forums.

Why are you fearful of associating with Christians? Your not making any sense here. If a person is not following Christ, he is not a Christian. Simple as that. Therefore, the people you mention only call themselves Christians. Does it mean they truly are that? No.

You marrying a Hindu girl was not exactly what GOD has in mind. He expects believers to marry believers.

2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

You cannot be prejudice against Christians because of some false ones you encounter. That is wrong and plainly dishonest. Its like calling the "church" bad because of one or two particular bad encounters one has at their local church buildings.

I agree

Dear Chad,

I totally agree with you.....

I do not hate Christians but it is that sense of hesitancy in trusting because of the bad experience with the wrong ones. Well I completely understand and agree with your point. But the fear which I have is because of the worst circumstances that I had to go through in real life. I am more hurt and disappointed but it is not an anger or an aggression. Well, imagine a pastor who is married with 2 children also runs a bible school and has lead me to Christ starts encouraging me to drink Alcohol because he is used to it and then uses me to clean his house like a servant saying Jesus Served and I must serve. Then He also uses me to carry flowers and presents and messages for his lover(Extra Marital Affair) who is not his wife.

He justifies all his deeds through some of reference in the Bible . Then uses the Bible reference to persuade me to sell all our family property to get financial support for him.

Well, its a kind a 5 years old story but today he is that man who is the most popular Bible Teacher and a Preacher who runs a Bible School here. Sometimes it makes me think how will God allow this kind of people continue fooling around!?

May be I think I should write to you about my testimony so that you can understand what I am talking to.

Well my wife who is from a Hindu baground has got closer to God and is at the verge of accepting him as her Saviour. I never took any initiative but it happened this to her when we saw this movie "Da Vinci Code". She had lot of questions as she didnt understand the movie very well. Then I guided her to the Scripture and some tracks. Now she learnt and she started to go to Church with my mother.

Please keep her in your prayers.

Regards,
Suresh.

Brother, I understand your hurt but regardless, you have no right nor reason to say anything you said about Christianity in whole. You are going by your own experience. As far as GOD is concerned, your experience does not speak on behalf of the Christian community.

"But I am dissappointed with his so called his beleivers and I find them most of the time like hypocrates."

To tell you the truth, its your own comments that makes you sound like the hypcocrite here. Sorry, but that is what I see. What did GOD say in the first place?

Matthew 5:43-45
43"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

This verse proves that you are the one being anything but Christ like. I suggest you be careful with your words and your attitude or else you will be judged the same way you judge others.

I know experience can affect us deeply, but it is wrong to label Christians this way at all. Very wrong

agreed

Dear Chad,

Thank you so much for sharing your views and comments which I really appreciate. I agree with you that I am wrong with that statement. But it's certainly not the whole community that I am upset. My statement was addressing the people who affected in my life.

If you thought that it meant. Correction there...

Its just a personal emotions thought to share. Sorry, if I have hurt any of you on this forum.

Thanks & Regards,
Suresh.

gtsuresh, I can understand what you are trying to convey. I think that you are maturing in your relationship with the Lord Jesus and beginning to discern between good trees and bad trees. We (Christ followers) would do well not to trust everyone who claims that they are Christians just because they confess it with their mouth. There must be fruit and confirmation by the Holy Spirit before we welcome anyone as a brother or sister.

The pastor you spoke of in your post is a profiteer of the gospel. You can pray for him but you should also break any fellowship with him and disregard any thing he says until you see fruit that indicates he has humbled himself and repented to God and all those who know him. He is a leader but he leads people away from Christ.

Christianity is now the religion of preference for many cultures in the world, but this is because as a whole it has become more cultish than Christ-like. An important note is that the first born-again believers did not call themselves Christians. The unbelievers (world) put that label on them. Christ made Himself of no reputation and if we are following Him then we will do likewise. Just because someone knows the lingo or jargon, has fish stuck to the back of their automobile and or wears a christian "T" shirt doesn't make them a brother or sister. You might be able to "join" a church but when it comes to the family of God you must be born into it. Because the Father is faithful there can be no step children in the family of God, everyone in His family is born of His Spirit.

gtsuresh, it does seem that you have been hurt and very disappointed and so have I. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that we are not commanded to trust everyone but to put our trust in the Lord, so try not to be too quick in trusting others before they have earned it. Continue to follow the Holy Spirit and he will show you those who you need to fellowship with and develope trusting and intimate relationships with. As you grow you will begin to see more and more hypocrisy just be careful not to let it harden your heart.
