A "reward" can be a good thing and a bad thing. "As you sow, so shall you reap"

If Jesus's sacrifice/death put an end to sin...then why were the apostles still offering sacrifices at the Temple after his death? Also, why is it written in scripture that The Messiah (re Jesus) would be offering a sin sacrifice for himself when he arrives?

Forgiveness of all sins??...what does The Bible say about blaspheming the name of God/Holy Spirit?

If The Messiah is supposed to usher in a 1000 yr period of peace on Earth, with the resurrected...who's going to Heaven? Did not Jesus himself say that no one has been to Heaven except himself?

Following the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection, the sacrifices being offered in the temple (now your body), is:

Psalm 116:17

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

And,

Hebrews 13:15-17

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Blood sacrifices ended.

Now, while we are forgiven our sins, this by no means that we continue in sin:

Romans 6:6-23

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Romans 6:6-23

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

So your saying we can be forgiven by simply asking for forgiveness and repentance, thus a sacrifice was never needed? I believe God forgave King David for the sin with Bathsheba (sp?) and also spared the city of Nineveh when they repented...with no sacrifice?

Still, why will there be sacrifices in the millennial age with The Messiah?

Begs the question...what was the point of Christs sacrifice if God will forgive if you just repent?

Proverbs 21:3 (NIV)

"To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice."

Psalm 40:6 (NIV)

"Sacrifice and offering you did not desire—but my ears you have opened—burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require."
