How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! Psalm 139:17-18 NLT
In Psalm 139, David marvels and praises God for knowing him so intimately, for knowing his thoughts and actions, and for being present for him at all times.
In the above scripture verses, David expresses his amazement that God would think of him so often. Those thoughts “cannot be numbered” and “outnumber the grains of sand.”
God’s thoughts of us are based in a love far too deep and far too wide for human understanding. And He thinks much about the object of that love.
God values you and His relationship with you. When you go to bed and when you wake up, He thinks about you and is there for you. He never stops thinking of you—or loving you with His deep, everlasting love.
Prayer: Father in heaven, Your thoughts cannot be numbered, and yet Your every thought is precious. Yet with all that is on Your mind, You never forget me. I can go to sleep at night knowing that You are thinking of me, and when I wake up in the morning, You are still there for me.
