Goodnight my friends
The night draws near
When soon my wake
Will disappear
Into the night
I’ll go to sleep
From me you will not
Hear a peep
The day was long
And I belong
Where I can get
Some good night rest
I’m tired now
This bod worn out
My mind needs rest
From many thoughts
‘Twas a good day
Had time to play
Relax a bit
And time to sit
Some family time
Had time to share
Of things we are
Now some aware
Time to reflect
On what’s in store
For all of us
At root of core
Some good, some bad,
But we will wait
To see what God
Has planned to date
