The joy in the Lord can be found in the most unexpected circumstances and situations if we would just step out in faith at the Spirits prompting.
Traveling for my sons surgery (He's in the military.) and has no one to care for him after the surgery. Me & my wife 2 days drive as the crow flies traveled to be with him. Friends who live locally to where he is stationed, had the desire to invite us to dinner while we were there. The couple haven't had an opportunity to see my wife in more than 20 years! So we traveled a couple of hours (along with my son) to fellowship and see the changes in us old folks
My brother & sister in Christ attend a Lutheran church and are active there. He being an Elder of the Church and my dear sister in Christ does yearly missionary work. While I am a bit outgoing when it comes to the Lord and His Word, they are a bit....how shall I say it....more private in their walk. Now to the great joy!!!!
Having received our appetizers our waitress left and a young man arrived with our drinks just as we were about to give thanks to God in prayer. The spirit moved me at that time. I asked the young man if he would not mind saying Grace for us. Picture the looks on every ones face when I asked that of him. Including the young man!
He hesitated at first, but then said yes and grabbed my hand and my dear friends hand as well, and proceeded to pray! He finished and left. I was left with a group of people who were still astonished, including my own family that I would ask this young man to say Grace. That he did I believe was almost as amazing as my asking in their eyes. For me it was a joy, and a peace to feel that hope in our youth through Christ Jesus, was still alive and evident. Thank-you Lord!
After dinner, when our own waitress had come back and taken care of the rest of the meal, we were in the process of gathering our things to leave, when the young man came back to our table, and thanked me for asking him to say grace. In his words "I really needed that."! Much to the surprise of all! All I could feel was great joy, that God would allow me if even in this small manner, to uplift a young man, by smallest of actions who truly seemed to need it.
Thank-you my God, my Lord & Savior, Holy Spirit, for so moving me when at most times, I am thicker than most mortar in being moved by the Light of your Spirit.

Prayer: Dearest Father, please cause me and all my brothers & sisters, to desire to walk in Your light. Make us all to receive such joy in the fellowship of the body of Your Son and in His shed blood that Your light will overflow from all our lives. In the name of your Son Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.
