The one thing that holds Christianity above all other religions is Grace. Strip away miracles, prophecy, spirituality and gifts and creation (all other religions offer these), the only thing that makes me believe that Christianity has an essential element for the human race is grace. What Jesus did, regardless of whether someone believes the story of Jesus is true or not, the story alone demonstrates the one thing that is missing in this miserable world. Forgiveness is the key to the world's problems. So I say spread the Gospel of Grace and save the World here and now.
I think it is unfortunate that Christian organizations are distracted with other things like making money. While money drives an organization, the World continues down the track of disaster. If the Churches fail to demonstrate and preach grace, they are responsible for this world's final demise. I believe the story of Jesus is not written to attract people to Jesus and/or churches, it is written to demonstrate the power of Grace. Jesus does not save, Churches do not save, Grace saves. Actually, when I think about it, Grace is my god.

Welcome to tj dear friend.

The important...in fact the most important thing in life as I see things, is to meet Jesus. There are so many religeons and faiths...it must be confusing to all who have no connection to any faith at all.

I met Him many years ago. People still meet Jesus today (millions world-wide) because He is alive today, and He can be known and met. He was crucified by men,........ but death could not hold Him, because He was 'sinless' 'faultless'
John 3:16.

Read the story in the 'New Testament'

Hello rawprawn,

Your poll choices are insufficient to the task, I believe. Can God be put inthe single box described as by any one of the words given as choices? Grace,yes, but Oh so much more:

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,saith the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yourways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

I prefer Elohim which means manifold perfections.
Certainly grace is one of those perfections because the lamb of God was slain before the foundation.
But grace can't survive long in this world unless accompanied by Faith,love,power and a sound mind empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The poll is a bit of fun really Amadeus. I of all people don't believe the Creator can be put in a box of any kind. And yet people treat Jesus as God. There is a box. Is Jesus God? People worship him soooo, that makes him their god. It is worship that makes a person or a thing god. Thus I have a problem with the idea of god. I don't know where to direct my worship because I don't know and can never know the Creator. I think, maybe, true worship of God is the protection and care for the Creators creation, this planet and all on it.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

I didn't really know what it was that you understood, but thanks for clarifying it a bit. Before I say more I must insert here that I am not a dyed in the wool trinitarian. Then considering your statement, I ask you what you do with this verse?

"And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him." Heb 1:6

8 But to the Son He says:
[SUB]m[/SUB] "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A [SUB]10[/SUB] scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, [SUB]n[/SUB] has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions." [SUB]11[/SUB]

Ummmm. What's up here?. God has a God? What do I do with all of this? Human being are the problem here. Human being wrote all of this, it doesn't have to make sense. lol Human beings trying to define and understand the Creator, that is all I make of it. In my opinion there is not true definition of "God". All we have in Jesus and the like are glimpses but we build complete belief systems out of these glimpses and try to tell everyone ours is the one true god. We are little more than the roaches.

What if scripture was describing concepts,patterns ,cycles,patterns of cycles and cycles of patterns?
What if it is like a virus that attacks mans imagination at the root levels like a root kit that gradually gets it's hooks in every sub system?

What if it is describing the particle world and how things work out of time and space.Is it possible there are dimensions we can't see?Isn't every human with an imagination a sort of dimension unto themselves?

"Let there be light" cannot be describing what we see as light because the ball of gas we call the sun was not around.
The lamb of God was slain before the foundation of the world but lambs were not created until the 6th day so maybe it's not describing what we think of as lambs.

Your answer is as a breath of fresh air. Indeed, it does not have to make sense to the carnal mind. It is too often the carnal mind of man that has used logic to fit God, in effect, into a box. We will understand about God exactly what He decides we need based on our interest and our measure of surrender to Him. We do live by faith even if in part God has let us "know" some things.

God always knows, but we, on the other hand...

Give God the glory!
