How sad! They teach about grace but don't even know what it is...What a tragedy! They spoke about mercy...not grace.

Grace is unmerited favor. It is not getting what we deserve, which is Hell. Christ took what was unforgivable and made it forgiveable.
Mercy is getting more then what we deserve. Mercy is healing, blessings, and abundant life.

My friend...Mercy is unmerited favor...We deserved hell and God favored us by adopting us and giving us heaven... Your two definitions here are saying the same thing

Try this on for size...Grace is the empowering presence of God in a believers life, which enables him to do that which God has for him to do..They definitely go hand in hand

It is a great mercy to have Holy Spirit as our guide and comforter. It is a great grace to be washed as white as snow and to be able to live a sanctified life.

I think you have it backwards. Grace is not getting what we do deserve, because we deserve Hell. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We are covered by His grace.
Mercy is getting what what we do not deserve. Mercy is Heaven. Mercy is healing. Mercy is what the Good Samaritan did.

Luke 10:33-37
. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[c] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

In the skit, and passage, Peter was given grace for denying Christ. Christ forgave him. I'm not 100% sure why his name was mentioned separately, (disciples and Peter). It was brought out here. I see as set apart for a special purpose maybe.
Being set apart for a purpose/mission, I'm not sure technically what it goes under grace/mercy. It is a good thing though. Benefit of being in Christ Jesus. Amen.

What is your thought on post #11? I think the concepts are what matters, but I think the two terms go hand in hand so much the terms can be confused. I just think the definitions are opposite.
