Grace without Christ

Cheap Grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap Grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline. Cheap Grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.

Costly grace is the treasure hidden in the fields; for the sake of it a man will gladly go and sell all that he has. It is the pearl of great price to buy which the merchant will sell all his goods. It is the kingly rule of Christ, for whose sake a man will pluck out the eye that causes him to stumble, it is the call of Jesus Christ at which the desciple leaves his nets and follow him.

Costly grace is the gosple which must be sought again and again, the gift which must be asked for, the door at which a man must knock.
Such grace is costly because it calls us to follow, and it is grace because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. It is costly because it gives a man/woman the only true life. It is costly because it condemms sin, and grace because it justifies the sinner. Above all, it is costly because it cost God the life of His Son : " you were bought at a price". (1 Corinthians 7:23) And what has cost God so much cannot be cheap for us. Above all, it is grace because God did not reckon his Son too dear a price to pay for our life, but delivered him for us. Costly grace is the incarnation of God.

Mark 10:41-45
"41And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

42But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.

43But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

44And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

45For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Romans 5:6-11:

6 While we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

7 For one will hardly die for a righteous person; though perhaps for a good person someone would dare even to die.

8 But God demonstrates God's own love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, having now been justified by the blood of Jesus, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Jesus.

10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of God's Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be liberated ("saved") by Jesus' life.

11 And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Sovereign Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

You always post great threads sister. God bless you for that.

GOD's grace is abundance and awesome! Without grace from GOD, we have no purpose to live nor any hope to do so. It sure cost GOD a lot to save us and because of this we should shout out for the Lord to the world so that they may receive the free gift of Salvation from Christ, the grace of GOD.
