"This life I live now, Christian homeschooling mom and pastor’s wife, is light-years away from where I was when the Lord claimed me for his own. Sixteen years ago, I would have agreed with this video. Back then, I was Dr. Rosaria Champagne, tenured professor of English and Women’s Studies at Syracuse University, scholar in 19th century literature and culture (and advocate of Freud, Marx, Hegel, Darwin), author of a book in feminist theory and articles in queer theory, partnered to a woman, and a proponent of LGBT civil rights. My conversion did not come easily, and I lost everything but the dog when Christ claimed me for His own. But my conversion left me clearheaded about God’s authority and holiness and the integrity of the Word of God. My conversion left me clearheaded about why God demands sexual purity and what the purpose of sexuality is. My conversion left me clearheaded about how repentance is the threshold to God. My conversion left me clearheaded about how I am to befriend my gay neighbor and advocate for a Christian world and life view today. My conversion left me clearheaded about how dangerous it is to measure life by anything but scripture. My conversion left me clearheaded about what God intends for women. My conversion left me clearheaded about how there is no shame in this life I live now for Christ alone."
