Harry Potter

Several years ago, I got the creeps when watching a Harry Potter movie. I don't think that I saw a third of it. I get the creeps when I see his face, or hear his name, to this day.
A Christian sister of mine has his picture hung in one of her rooms; she loves him. She asked me one time if I like him, and I said no. Nothing else has been said but we have not let that ruin our friendship.
My question is this: Is Harry Potter a work of the enemy?

Yes harry potter is the work of the enemy. It draws peoples imagination to sorcery.

Personally i would not let my kids see it and have nothing to do with it at all. Dont watch it and dont read it.

For the most part I would say yes...but there are actually churches in our area that are wondering if they can't use the series to teach Good vs Evil. As far as I am concerned I think the Bible teaches that...and Christian writers and their materials can be used for such.

I couldn't have said it better. You really hit the nail on the head. What other books speak of anything that the Bible has not spoken of already? After all, who is a better author than the Holy Spirit? Certainly not Harry Potter's author.

I think we can't make comments about things if we haven't already read it for ourselves. As far as I am aware it is a book about friendship, courage and making the right choices when faced with trials. Isn't this a good thing?

I agree with you, i love the books and have never seen them as anything but a fairy tale, Harry Potter shows Love ,courage and fights for what is right ,i do not take it seriously after all it is just a novel.

Most movies and television shows are secular/worldly. Jesus is not revealed in any of these movies or programs. God's love is not expressed. The Harry Potter series is no exception.

Overcoming evil with good: coming into your own: displaying courage and defining friendships can most certainly be portrayed on a Christian level. We can certainly display courage and overcome evil with His love without partaking of any demonic activity.

As for using the Harry Potter books as a teaching guide...surely there must be Christian books that do this, only according to His word? How can people be shown the power and love of Jesus along with the plan of salvation if He is left out of it. These movies do not glorify the Name of our Lord.

Yes the deceptive false magic of witchcraft brings hate and slavery and chains. That only through the blood of God's dear son Jesus the shackles can be broken! Mr. Self, A.K.A. the devil, continues to try to keep people blinded to the gospel and in chains through promising them power where actually they have none but a rebellious heart against God. God hates the sin but genuinely loves the worst offender who may be practicing witchcraft. May the people of the movie and the writer ask God to show them his mercy and grace.

I am against Harry Potter but as a Christian I keep on praying that JK Rowling, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma , Rupert Grint and all the other actors in the Harry Potter movies will return to Jesus. I want them also to hear that Jesus loves them and I will keep on praying for their salvation. I will keep on praying for their salvation till the day that they return to Jesus Christ. Please help me keep on praying for their salvation.
