Have you ever been phrophesized about???

Hey everyone. I was just wondering if there's anybody else out there who's had God speak to them through someone else, because that's happened to me. I've been phrophesized about and I'm telling you, it was the most emotional time in my life because God was talking to me through a phrophetess at my church and He was telling me about my future! Can you imagine God telling you about your future??? It was so awesome...and I'm thankful for what He said because it looks like I'm going to be working for Him a lot in the future!

People in your church probably do have the gift of prophecy and God does use people to speak the things of God. But....wouldn't you also rather hear from the Lord himself concerning His calling for you?

It's nice to have peoples' approval, but it's essential to have His calling. Remember who it is that calls you in the first place and center your love and devotion on Him. I am glad to see you are excited about serving Him!

Thanks for sharing this sister. Always pray on these things and ask the Holy Spirit to confirm these things to you. Sometimes people love to assume they have a prophecy for others and they try to flatter you. Let the Holy Spirit convict you of the truth. There is no doubt that this calling is truth from GOD. Just be careful is what I am saying.

Yes jesus_saves I have been personally prophecied over, and it is a wonderful thing if the prophecy comes from the Holy Spirit

When I was 9, my mother was told by some dude (please excuse my ambiguity :shade: ) that I was going to be used in Spiritual warfare. Another kid was told he was going to be a prayer warrior. They had a prophetic dream about it. And as bob is not your uncle the other kid became what he was said to be. That leaves me...the biggest flop since the flip *pouts a woeful pout*, hehehe. No, but seriously, I just dont know what to make of it. Im in limbo at the moment. Maybe I am on some level resisting. Or maybe defective, what do you peeps think? Yes, many times since I have been saved.

Some of the prophecies have been right on
the 'money' and some were from 'left' field!

Some were very obvious they were from the
Holy Spirit 'confirmed' by God's Word.

Some were given to my family or myself from
out of their 'own' spirits, sounded nice but
'not' from God!!

There are no 'more' prophets let alone women,
phrophetesses, given to the church today!

A true' prophet of God brought new revelation
from God. We have His 'revealed'
Word!2Tim.3:16.

I had to 'rebuke' a so-called 'prophet' in a
'balanced' church one day. He pointed at me
and told me to come up in front of the
congregation.

My wife and son were told to come up also. He
said very emfatically, " Brother I see you on an
operating table with surgeons all around you!" I
freaked and looked at my wife.

He continued and said "Isn't this right brother?!
" I said, "Do you mean 'spiritually speaking?"

HE said, "No! Come on brother admit it! You
recently had an operation and you survived! "He
started to talk some more, and I said ,

"Dude you are 'so' wrong! Other than my disability
I 'never' had a recent operation! You are speaking
'trash' and this is 'not' of God! "

He turned all kinds of colors, I shot a look of disgust
to the pastor, and we walked out and ate at a local
restaurant! The Pastor called later and was
appologizing! I said " How many times has this guy
been allowed to 'speak' in your church?!" He said
" You are right! He's not of God!"

There are a lot of Satan's ministers transformed
into the very ministers of righteousness!

2Cor. 11:15: Therefore it is no great thing if his
ministers also be transformed as the ministers of
righteousness; whose end shall be according to
their works.

I don't tell a lot of people but 'prophecy' and
'prophesying' by the Holy Spirit are among some
of the spiritual gifts God has so graciously
bestowed on me. All utterances where God has
moved on me to give to individuals at times are
'always' the total Word of God coming from my lips.

To date, anything He has shown me of the future
of events have been confirmed.

I didn't ask for this and it at times is overpowering!

It's a true 'Burden of the Lord' that comes upon me
to really press in and intercede to the Lord!

Sometimes I feel like Abraham interceding for the
sins of Sodom and Gommorah, [America]

"Peradventure ten shall be found there." Gen.18:32

ex. Prayer meeting on Friday night, I 'saw' the
Twin Towers, one plane crashing and then the other!

I was shaking when I gave this 'prophecy' of what
I was being shown that night! A tremendous 'sorrow'
was in my voice and we began to pray and 'grieve' in
the spirit for God's people. We prayed also for God to
stop this attack and protect His people! Prophesies
about America's evil, pornography, withcraft, abortion,
crooked judges, perverted legal system, etc., He spoke
that 'thousand's of people would die horribly and that
nothing could be done to stop this attack that
'He' was allowing!:lightning

But it came to pass 3 days later on Monday!

John16:13: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is
come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not
speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that
shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

If somebody said you'll be used in spiritual warfare, I think that is true. Coz all believers in Christ will be used for spiritual warfare. Actually we are engaging in spiritual warfare from the moment we gave our lives to Jesus. And don't have the wrong idea that spiritual warfare is only rebuking demons, casting them out, laying hands etc. I agree all this is warfare. But primarily spiritual warfare if how you exercise your faith in Christ in everyday life.
That means even when you willfully forgive somebody you have engaged in warfare and emerged a victor. When you love your neighbour as yourslef , you are in warfare. When you do good to others, when you stand your ground in holiness and righteousness, you are engaging in warfare.

When people usually hear of spiritual warfare they think of rebuking and casting out demons and all that happens in the spiritual realm. But spiritual warfare manifests primarily in the physical. When you obey God's commandments you are already in the battlefield and on the winning side. When you spend time with God in prayer you are engaging in war. When you manifest godliness in your life you are engaging in spiritual warfare.

I'll tell you a secret for a powerful christain walk. Don't be complacent. "Draw nearer to God and He will draw nearer to you" There is always scope for drawing nearer to God. You could be a christian for many years but still there is more. There is always a higher place to go for a Christian. There is always more glory in store for you. There is always a higher degree of intimacy with God.
Explore God's love. He is infinite and limitless.

The Bible says "Do not despise prophecy" but it also says "test every spirit" . The prophecy on your life should encourage you for a closer walk with God, whenever you remember it.

I would pray for confirmation about the prophesy you were given. If it is true, God will confirm it for you.

Also, there's a verse in the parable of the Prodigal Son that I think is important to look at here. Luke 15:20 says, "But while he was yet a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him, and kissed him."

Jesus doesn't tell us how long the father had waited for the son to come back and for the party to start. Its also worth noting that the father was not going to have any problem spotting his son on the path, for that boy was the only person who would ever walk that path, the path of preparation for the work his father had for him to complete.

Each of us has a separate preparation path that we travel in coming to the Father and beginning our walk with Him. Some are long, some are short. Some wind up and over mountains, some are virtually straight. But, they all end up with us receiving our anointing if we are truly seeking His will for our lives.

You are on your preparation path. You will get to the point where God uses you to do the work He has set out for you to do. Be patient.

In 1 John 4:1-3 (NIV), does it not speak of testing the Spirits?

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

I don't go around chasing after prophets for fear of being mislaid. I can be, at times, gullible. All that I need is found in God's word. I don't want to be mislead to the point that I will lose my friend who is Jesus. God bless.

Yes i was phophecied to at least twice...once from a real good man of God, and once here by one of our Mods. Both came true, or were true...sometimes we worry so much about false prophets, we miss the real ones, or the ones with that gift.

Amen sister that can happen...sorry it happened to you, but dont throw away the baby with the bath water. Two major prophets are coming soon, it will be wise to listen to them...and Christ still uses men to talk to his Church.

my testamony is that the Lord has used prophetic in my life so many times to show me how much He loves me and healed me from my past. He did it in time where i felt I had no hope and He gave me joy and peace that is more than I could even imagine. He also has show me other things in the future that hasnt come to be yet but I know and trust that He will fulfill those prophetic in His timing and not mine. I have had the same prophetics from different people and they were alike especially the ones with healing, and some with my future. The ones that God has put in my heart and I know that are true Im just in waiting others dont matter. All that matters to me is that I am obedient to Him and I will do His will and what He is calling me too. For His will is my will and my will is His will. I am just His humble servant and He is my Lord and Saviour and friend. John 14:14-17

It seems at times people don't read a person's
post 'completely.

No disagreement about what you stated in Luke
2:36. brother Richard. [my fraternal brother's name]

Acts 21:9: And the same man had four daughters,
virgins, which did prophesy.

Ac:2:18: And on my servants and on my
handmaidens I will pour out in those days of
my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

What I said was a lot of so-called 'prophets
and prophetesses' have 'prophesied'
'falsely' and are hardly ever 'challenged
or 'proven' by the Word of God.

1Co:14:29: Let the prophets speak two or three,
and let the other judge.

1Co:14:32: And the spirits of the prophets are
subject to the prophets.

If you read my post you would of seen I have
been prophesied over many times by very
anointed and 'real men and women of God.

And some prophesied out of their own spirits!

Some came true and some didn't.

Why didn't Jesus tell us of 'true' prophets and
prophetesses of God that would flourish and
would be prevalent in the church in these last
days as He told us 'false' ones would?

Prophesying is alive and well in the body of Christ
in these 'latter' days.
1Thess.5:20: Despise not prophesyings.

1Cor.14:1: Follow after charity, and desire spiritual
gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

But the 'foundational office' that the church, the
creation of the church, 'was' built on is not the same
concerning the 'office' of a prophet.

Where are they? Why haven't they spoken out in
the streets? On t.v. concerning the 'sin' in the
church, America and other nations?!

Where's the 'School of the Prophets' This belief
about prophets like those of the first church
was started by the creation of the 5 fold
ministry.

Let's let God's Word prove or disprove.

End of the O.T. prophetic dispensation.

Luke 16:16: The law and the prophets were
until John: since that time the kingdom of
God is preached, and every man presseth
into it. Matt. 11:13,14.

Heb:1:1: God, who at sundry times and in divers
manners spake in time past unto the fathers by
the prophets,

Heb:1:2: Hath in these last days spoken unto us
by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all
things, by whom also he made the worlds.

We have God's precious Holy Word, why do we
need prophets? The scripture says it plain. God
is speaking to us by the words of Jesus!




Where's the powerful prophetic voice of the prophet
like it was in 'Paul's' time as that of Agabus?
Acts 11:28;28:10.

I saw the entire 9\11 tragedy in a vision on a Friday
night at a prayer meeting. The Armenian Earthquake
in a dream to the smallest detail where brothers and
sisters in Christ would perish one month before it
happened! And I know God showed others.

God showed me the Nasa shuttle disaster 2 days
before, I tried to inform the authorities, they just
laughed and said I was nuts and too much Bible
was 'rotting' my brain!!

I guess there's no office of prophet in these days
prior Christ's return because people because of
their 'hardness' of heart and coldness\indifference
to the things of God, turning away from Him
will not 'listen' to the prophetic voice of a true
prophet of the Lord!

Job:31:3: Is not destruction to the wicked?
and a strange punishment to the workers
of iniquity?

Matt:24:12: And because iniquity shall abound,
the love of many shall wax cold.

2Thess. 2:10: And with all deceivableness of
unrighteousness in them that perish; because
they received not the love of the truth, that
they might be saved.

I like what this true prophet of God said in
this scripture.

1Kings 22:14: And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth,
what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.

Read the chapter and you will see this prophet
was not going to bow down to what the king
wanted him to prophesy.

‘I will give you,’ he said in effect, ‘the only prophecy that you
deserve, the prophecy of a parrot that speaks only what
others speak, the prophecy of a courtier who speaks only
what will win the favour of men.

Jer. 23:16: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken
not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy
unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision
of their own heart, and not out of the mouth
of the LORD.

Jer. 23:26: How long shall this be in the heart of the
prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets
of the deceit of their own heart;

Hi, I just want to say, look at all the men in the old testament who received promises. Joseph, David, etc. How long did it take before they received their promise? Because those "words" given to you didnt come to pass yesterday, does not mean they will not. As long as you have breath and they were true prophets, the words spoken will happen. God doesnt operate in any time limit. ...God bless you

Brethren,

I humbly ask all of you on this thread to
forgive me of 'listening' to the 'flesh' and
teachings of mere men!!

You are right and I am 'so' wrong!

I have been walking in the 'prophetic' Word
of God since I have been saved!!

I have had Christians on this site and others
who have 'challenged' me that I am a 'true'
prophet of the Lord and that that the
'office' of the 'prophet' continues!

A brother in Christ on this site e mailed me
a wonderful letter on 'my' calling.

I have been praying, fasting and asking God
for His Word of confirmation.

I wanted to be so sure and careful about this
biblical issue, now I know, truly know and His
'truth' has once again 'SET ME FREE!'

This brother said that these scriptures show
that the office of 'prophet' is 'still' in effect until
Jesus returns!

He also said from an e mail I sent him of my struggle
about this. He said,

" Joe, you stated that it is an awesome responsibilty
speaking things into people's lives that can seriously
influence their lives!

You stated brother that you are in complete awe
and the 'fear' of God whenever He uses you to
prophesy or bring forth a 'prophecy' to someone or
about some- thing He will bring to pass in the near
or not so near future.

You are so humbled at the fact that He Chose you
to bring His Word to those that are hurting, in sin,
need encouragement, need a real word for
direction and so on.

To me where I'm sitting these are the marks of a
'true' prophet of the Lord! "


These are the scriptures he sent me.

Eph:4:11: And he gave some, apostles; and
some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and
some, pastors and teachers;


Eph:4:12: For the perfecting of the saints, for
the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the
body of Christ:

Eph:4:13: Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the
fulness of Christ:

He said, " I take this to mean that the 'office' of
prophet as the other offices 'will' continue 'until'
the Lord Jesus 'returns' for His people, the church! "


Eph:4:15: But speaking the truth in love, may grow
up into him in all things, which is the head, even
Christ:


Eph:4:16: From whom the whole body fitly joined
together and compacted by that which every joint
supplieth, according to the effectual working in the
measure of every part, maketh increase of the body
unto the edifying of itself in love.

Then he wrote me, " And this is what you do Joe, all
of these things said in these scriptures! "

I prophesied to someone yesterday the 'Word of the
Lord' [His Word from scripture] in total freedom and
it was marvelous!

We all rejoiced and that person said, " I needed to
hear this, this is a true word from God!"

Glory to God for his people on this site such as you
brother Richard and others that have made me 'strive'
to make my 'calling and election sure! 2Peter 1:10.

1Co:7:20: Let every man abide in the same calling
wherein he was called.
