And a leper came to Him, begging Him on his knees and saying to Him, If You are willing, You are able to make me clean. Mark 1:40 AMPC

The first chapter of Mark contains the words of a man whose simple faith heartened him enough to seek out a miracle healing. He essentially told Jesus that he knew He could heal and that the healing would happen if He was only willing. The man with a skin condition called leprosy didn’t say whether he’d heard about the good things that Jesus had done for others. He didn’t suggest that Jesus might not want to heal a guy like him. He just dropped to his knees, was not above begging, and believed.

This man recognized that healing was possible and that Jesus was the healer. He expressed trust in Him. He believed in an outcome that, for most, seemed impossible. Do you believe that God loves to see this kind of faith?

It’s easy to stare at the ground, use your shoe to move some dirt around, and, instead of asking God for help, feel embarrassed as you turn and walk back to your pain—and away from His help.

Every day you get to make that choice. You can be embarrassed or believing. You can be timid or bold. You can stay broken or discover healing.

Prayer: Help me make a bolder choice, Lord. If You’re willing, You can help me.
