This is a testimony of just one recent event. It is not possible to try to cover everything God has done for me, He has simply done so much in my life.
This spring has seen the worse drought in western Canada since 1937. I and many others have prayed for rain with no response throughout the spring.
Our church is very small and is mostly older people who are too busy or unable to tend our church's flower garden. I gave it a quick cleanup 2 years ago, but no one touched it last year. This year there were so many weeds, and the perennial flowers had spread all over. It looked like what you would expect to see in front of a rural homestead that had been abandoned for a decade. Long story short, this spring I had no time to even attempt to do anything with the garden (stepdad passed away, other church duties, family, my job, etc).
But God kept putting it in my heart for me to clean up the garden. So last week I figured I would make time to do it. I spent most of my off work time for several days cleaning up the flower gardens.
Then He told me to plant some flowers. We had not had any rain at all for over 5 weeks, the flower bed was dust even 25cm down, there was no rain in the forecast, there was no water faucet on the outside of the church, and I didn't have a key to the church to get water. Flowers do not last long in 30C weather in soil that is so dry that it is dust.
I arranged to borrow the church key from one of the members that lives by me. The day before I went, it rained (3-4cm) 1.3" - the soil was damp as far as I dug down. I thanked God for the rain, without it, the flowers didn't stand a chance.
I went and dug up/bought some flowers. I gave them a good watering and returned the key. I told God that I had no real way to water them beyond giving them a small cup of water each on my way to work (which would not be at all be sufficient in that heat with the dry conditions), the flowers were in his hands.
And He brought the rain. It hasn't stopped raining for 3 days, and in fact, it is still raining as I type this. The grass is growing, the flowers are doing, and I am very grateful to God that the nearby out of control wildfires are also being brought under control.
That He brought the rain doesn't surprise (it doesn't make me any less grateful though), as He also did it 2 years when I made a similar prayer for Him to water the flowers I planted in the same garden. He brought a big rain shower the evening I planted the flowers, even when there had been no chance of rain for the whole week.
Glory to God!
