Nineteen Hundred and Sixty odd years ago
He gave his life for us
He suffered so bad He looked nothing like man
Just a broken torn and bloodied being
Those who professed to love Him
Turned Him over for the kill
How great His faith must have been
He knew what lied ahead
Made to carry the cross He was to die on
The pain must have been to much to bear
They nailed him high
With a sign above
As darkness came He spoke to His father
No anger did He wield
For instead of Himself
He pleaded for us
That we may be forgiven
Now up in our heavenly home He does dwell
With our wise and loving Father
And even though we turned our backs
He loves us with all His heart
Our world is full of hate and fear
As Satan tries to win us
But our love for Jesus is stronger than he
We are Jesus kids
He holds our world in one hand
The book of life in the other
Teaching us His Word
In our dreams
In our conscience and deeds
He promised He will return one day
To walk among the faithful
And take us home to our Father above
Where paradise reigns and peaceful
Only the true and faithful
Full of love and compassion will see
That glorious day
When Jesus comes down
On a beautiful fluffy cloud
Oh how I pray to see that day
To touch and hold Him near
For my first great love
Will always be
My Jesus, My Brother, My Lord
He gave his life for us
He suffered so bad He looked nothing like man
Just a broken torn and bloodied being
Those who professed to love Him
Turned Him over for the kill
How great His faith must have been

Made to carry the cross He was to die on
