How do we hear from God?
This is my first experience with that, when I was about 11 or 12, LONG ago!
My sunday school teacher was a lady who we liked very much and she
always told the truth. So when she told us in class that God always answered
prayers it made us think.
I thought that I would pray and ask the Lord if I should be baptized. I wanted
to but I was shy and also I wondered if there was time for me to put it off
until later, or not? So it was a sunday afternoon and I prayed and I asked.
I knew I would get an answer, but how? Would it be a telephone call, or
a letter in the mail, or a message in the sand? I didn't care, it was up to God.
At the end of the day there was no message and so I assumed it would be
the next day and I went to sleep.
The next day there was nothing until the afternoon, I think, and it was not
a voice, but like thoughts sent to my head. I was told that if I was serious
about being baptized then I should go on and do that. But there was nothing
about rushing it. So I put it off, and was baptized about 12 yrs. later. My faith
was increased. Later when I really needed God, I would know how to contact him.
If you have not heard from the Lord, ask him in faith and believe it and I expect
you will get an answer in his time.
Thanks be to God the father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!
