Matt 5:18; "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Matt 24:35; "
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
Mark 13:31; "
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
Luke 16:17; "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the Law to fail.
Luke 21:33; "
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

One day this current Earth will disappear. The current heaven also.
The Bible says they will "wear out", and they will be "burned up".

Isa 51:6; "Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.

2Pet 3:10; But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
2Pet 3:12; looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!

Even Hell itself will be burned up one day.

Rev 20:14; Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

But the Bible also says there will be a New heaven and New Earth someday in the future.

Isa 65:17; "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.
Isa 66:22; "For just as the new heavens and the new earth Which I make will endure before Me," declares the LORD, "So your offspring and your name will endure.

2Pet 3:13; But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
Rev 21:1; Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

... to be continued.

We know there was a war in heaven at some poiint.

Rev 12:7; And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war,
Rev 12:8; and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven.
Rev 12:9; And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

Satan and his angels lost the war and were cast out of heaven ( although it appears Satan could still visit on occasion). Jesus said He was there and He saw Satan cast out of heaven.

Luke 10:18; And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.

Many take the following verse to mean Satan took a third of the angels with him, when he rebelled.

Rev 12:4; And his tail *swept away
a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.

...so what does all this have to do with a new heaven? Some believe the old heaven was corrupted by sin during this time. That's why there needs to be a new heaven.

The Bible says there is a temple in the current heaven.

Heb 8:1; Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,
Heb 8:2; a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.

Heb 9:11; But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation;

Heb 9:19; For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,
Heb 9:20; saying, "THIS IS THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT WHICH GOD COMMANDED YOU."
Heb 9:21; And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood.
Heb 9:22; And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Heb 9:23; Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Heb 9:24; For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
Heb 9:25; nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own.

Verse 24 says Jesus entered into the temple in heaven itself, not a mere man made copy. I used to wonder, if this temple in heaven would be burned up when heaven was burned up.
But I no longer think it matters, there will be a new "temple" in the New Jerusalem. ( which is not really a building )

Rev 21:22; I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

It seems there will no longer be a need for the temple in heaven after this point.
