Two weeks ago I had a bad night. I rolled and tossed all night. I kept thinking about a man I knew for half a life time. He gambled and drank and all that goes with that life style.

That man was in a nursing home waiting to die of cancer. About half way through the night I got the point. The Holy Spirit wanted me to go to him in the AM. I did go to see him about 9:00am Sat.

I witnessed to him and told him that his brother who was in heaven wanted him to come to heaven too.

He didn't!

Greetings @Eric E Stahl

Do you mean the dying man didn't want to go to heaven and be saved?

Is he still alive.....whilst there is breath there is still hope.

Keep praying and witnessing....the Lord is abundantly able to save

He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him
Hebrews 7:25

He died three days later. That may have been God's last offer.

It's his will that no man go to hell. Maybe your words did actually make an impact after you left him in those final days and he actually did repent? Only God is to say but I understand as a Christian this is a hard pill to swallow. It's supposed to be for us. But we cannot dither that God and not us does the saving even though he works through us.

I hope he accepted Jesus in the three days he lived.

It's sad that people would reject God's offer of free grace and forgiveness through Christ. Of the thousands of religions not a single one offers free grace and a personal relationship with God. Jesus is indeed the only way. If only the blind would see and hear.

I hope those words stayed with him as a wonderful goad, and I hope in his time before he died, that perhaps he received Jesus as his Savior. The Lord is so mindful and to have sent you was very kind. We don't know, we just water or plant the seed but God in His mercy gives the increase. I pray this action was fruitful. We do the best we can, by His grace given. Precious Savior. Not a bird falls to the ground that He is not mindful.
