I'm a new member to talkjesus. Well, I have to say that I've always been a Christian..and have believed in Jesus..but I never really took it seriously. I never really go to know God and his word, until just recently, and now all I've been doing is not only reading the Holy Bible but also studying it. I have this great urge to get to really know God and our Lord Jesus Christ and now I can't get enough. I LOVE GOD AND JESUS...I have complete trust and faith and I want to repent of my sins so that I can become even closer to God and to Christ.

I love the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit with all of my heart, mind and soul..Amen.

I also have a couple of questions.

1. Is there any right or wrong way to pray to God? I'm more of a silent prayer where I speak to God through my heart and inner self. I feel closer to God that way.

2. Which is the best version of the Holy Bible, one that is most accurate? I've been told the King James Version is the best.

Thank You,

Springbaby

Welcome to TJ, Springbaby. I hope you enjoy the forums.

Nearly 100% of my praying is done in silence. Don't complicate prayer. It is nothing more than conversation with God. Keep it simple. Don't ritualize it.

As to which Bible to use - take your choice. When I got saved, I started out with the King James Version because I was fascinated with the 500 year old language usage. Now I use the NIV. I'm told it is an accurate translation and for certain it is easy to read.

Springbaby I extend a warm welcome to you to the 'talkjesus' forums.

The Apostle Paul exhorted the church to "pray without ceasing" To do that would mean that we are praying, whatever else we may be doing at the time. We can lift up our heart to God in prayer.

I use the A.V. mostly. That may be because I have grown up with it, and I know it. Also for study, the main scholars wrote their 'Concordance' works based on the A.V. It was the only one available in their day.

God Bless You

Greetings sister welcome to the forums :) God bless you, enjoy the fellowship.

I read / study the NIV, NKJV. I also have Matthew Henry's Commentary. Very helpful.

Prayer should simply be a sincere conversation with GOD whether silence or audible. GOD can hear both ways.
