Hi everyone, I have just joined this forum and I am so excited to make connections, discuss and learn about the creator of us all- God. As with most of us, I'm assuming that we are here for a specific purpose or reason, whether you exploring or here to communicate with the people who share the same love for God.

I'm still quite young and after going through some painful life situations I have been brought closer to God through Transformation Church that I have now been watching Pastors speak in for a month and I have not been the same ever since, Of course, I haven't spiritually changed yet but it has given me a clear path and knowledge which helps me not to only connect with God but manage myself in a way that is by his word. I'm far from perfect but I try and I want to continue to grow with God through his word. However, I find that Pastor keeps saying that when there is something happening in your life that you need God to answer, go back to the bible and the word of God but I've realised that when reading the bible I find it hard to study it. Or like when I have a specific issue, for example 'relationship' how do I really know where to look for it since the bible has so many pages,

If any of you have any suggestions or knowledge, please share it, I'm very open to what everyone has to say, especially when it teaches me something I didn't know and I get to learn and grow.

God bless you all and I can't wait to talk to ya'll! :)

Greetings @blueprint

Welcome to the forum, another member from the UK.

You have a searching heart, that is good my friend, God loves a searching heart.

You have a thirst for Truth, that is good also, the Truth is in The Word.

Take things slowly my friend, come to Jesus as you are, a sinner needing a Saviour. Jesus is waiting for your prayers, He is waiting for you, pray to God our Father through Jesus my friend, share your heart with Him and always finish your prayers... in Jesus Name, Amen.

May the good Lord bless you and guide you, He will.

Jesus loves you we do too.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Thank you so much for such a warm welcome and such kind words. All of your love is MASSIVELY appreciated! God bless you!

God bless you too my friend, it is good to see your thirst for the Truth in The Word my friend, when I say take your time I say it in love, remember school, you will I am sure, I would have to go back many years, like anything whether school, a new job, etc there is so much to learn. If we try take in to much in one go the sponge fills up and the message is not absorbed. Don't worry, you are not the first, you won't be the last, we have all been there.

Scripture tells us when we are born again, we are babes in Christ, we need milk, we are not ready for solid food. It is the same with trying to walk before we can crawl. If you take things slowly you will learn faster, you will be blessed, you will be amazed.

Feel free to ask any questions, that are lots of Jesus filled souls on here, we are all here to help and guide my friend. God Blesses us, not for our benefit, not directly anyway, He blesses us so that we will Bless others, and He received the Glory.

Be blessed

Philippians 4:4-7 (NKJV)
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Hey Blue Print

THe name of my church is called "transformation church" but I see you are in the UK and I am in the US so cant be the same.

reading the bible is what changed my life completely, BUT it sure took a long time and its still being changed, when I first decided to figure things out, I was still a catholic and going to 'Mass" anyways around the age 33 I started reading the bible and it did not make any sense I probably read it 5 times cover to cover and it still made no sense for the most part, then I found some good study aides on line and took my time reading it had a great freind who helped me understand it,, and little by little it started making more sense. That was 16 years ago and still struggle with understanding some of it. But I believe it 100% .

Bible study groups at local churches can be a great way to meet fellow believers and learn and live the word together

It's a joy to welcome you to this online forum of Christian Believers. Especially one who has the desire to grow in God's Word and see how to apply it to ones life. Which isn't always easy, or quick!!!! :)

There are many ways to start, and methods to use to grow in the Word of God. A lot of it depends on whether you're seeking to know all of Scripture, which is what one usually finds in Bible Studies. This type of study will usually take one book at time and go through it from the first verse to the last, one Book at a time. Of course it doesn't mean that it won't touch other parts of Scripture as is pertinent to actual book being studied, but usually will be done consecutively, Genesis - Revelation, or even Old Testament or New Testament.

Another method which is usually driven by an individuals life, meaning you, and what is happening in your life at the moment. This method usually is called Topical. This type of study can easily cover the entirety of Scripture!!! It really depends on the subject your seeking, and how it applies to your own life and how in depth you feel you have to go through in order to get the answer/understanding of how God's sees it.

Life driven studies can also find benefit by doing a Biographical Study. Meaning finding a specific person in the Bible that relates to what you are going through and study that persons life. There could be similarities to this persons life, and what you are going through in your own, that by studying what Scripture has to say about the person, might very well be something that will help you in yours!

You might also, allow for doing more than one method. Doing a regular Study on the Word of God, Book, by book and then something crops up in your life, and you start another one specific to whatever is going on with you.

How much time you have to dedicate to it, probably will have much to do with how much you get out of it.

Regardless, praying, study habits, taking notes, marking up your Bible  which is okay to do are features to receiving good results. Always, keep in mind that it will be the Holy Spirit that will guide you and provide the insight/understanding that you are truly seeking when handling the Word of God.

I hope this helps you and as I said before........Welcome!!!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

I can not thank you enough as well as any other individual who has commented under my post with their ways of understanding the word of God. I also hope that these discussions help anyone else who's going past this post.

I wasn't even aware that there are methods of the way bible can be studied, therefore, thank you so much for introducing me to some of these options and I am already planning to adapt the Topical and Biographical Studies. This is just getting me really excited now, I think I'll start reading the bible from the beginning again because when I read it I don't want to blindly read past certain scriptures.

Again, thank you so much for such a warm welcome and for sharing his knowledge!

God bless you!

Is the Lead Pastors name Michael Todd? The transformation church that I "Listen" is not in the UK as well, in terms of attending church, I am originally Lithuanian and the church that I attend is in Lithuania but since I live in the UK, I tend to watch Sunday Service at Transformation Church which is in the US.

Your story is very interesting, I can't believe that you have read bible about times but that's what keeps you devoted and God loves that because your love is real.

And that is the most important part, when I read the bible I still don't hear it in the way that it's supposed to be heard but I believe it 1000%

May I ask, are you aware of the WWWWWH method of study?

When you are reading a story ask yourself the following...

WHO is in the story, who is being talked about, who will do what, who did what?

WHY are they there, why are people not there?

WHAT are they doing, what is being suggested or said, what is the theme?

WHERE are they, where are they going, where have they come from, where will it happen?

WHEN was it happening, when are they
saying something happened or will happen?

HOW many people, how many items, how many there, how many not there?

Use the first word as the key word, ask your own questions, you will get a fuller view of what you are reading.

The method is great for study, it is used by price, by reporters, by any one who wants to see a fuller picture and work out reasons, motifs, and fill in many items that may not be at first noticable.

Enjoy your studies.

Bless you.

I've never heard of this method, however, it seems like a really useful one as well as I can see it would make me question more of what I read. I will make a note of this right now in my notebook so I have it with me at all times.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me!

Bless you!

It is important not to rush Bible Study, it is also important to picture what is happening, why it is happening, what is the message, what is the message in context, as if you are there. The method takes time, the rewards are beyond measure my friend.

It is a pleasure to be able to share with you @blueprint, every day is a school day as the saying goes, every day we all learn something different, every day there is something more to learn, no matter how old we are, whilst there is breath we continue to learn.

Praise the Lord.

That's why I want to make sure that when I do study bible it's in the best and meaningful way, even if it means I will stay on the same page for the next 2 months.
Thank you so much for having this amazing conversation with me!

Don't worry if something doesn't seem to make sense, always remember you are learning, practicing righteousness. I have said it before, hope you don't mind me saying again, always feel free to ask questions, someone will help you.

Bless you my friend.
