I've not seen the film. I looked up a couple of reviews, though. It's the story of a prominent Pentecostal preacher who concludes that hell is what people do to others on earth, and that salvation is broader than having faith in Jesus.
As he preaches his views, his mega church turns on him and he's ostracized as a heretic.
Is that a fair summary? And what is it in particular that has disturbed you?
The core of our faith is that Jesus is Lord. He's come in the flesh to reconcile God and man, heaven and earth. His kingdom will triumph over every other power and principality and will never be defeated. He has broken the power of death and will judge us all.
Right?
Jesus knows who is in his kingdom and who is not. It's not up for us to judge. I wish for everyone to know Jesus as lord and saviour.
Theres no salvation without Jesus, but it's not our task to decide how wide he draws the circle. I trust in his judgement and goodness.
Use the challenge of the film to think through what you believe. Very often our thoughts and ideas are vague and muddled until we have to defend them.
That's a general answer to a general question. If you've something more specific in mind I'd be happy to go a bit deeper.
