He's a lamb?

I thought the Lord Jesus was a Lion. He's greater than any lamb isn't he?

The blood of the lambs saved the 1st born of the Israelites in Egypt in the first passover. Years later when Jesus entered Jerusalem, it was 4 days before passover. The sacrificial lambs were entering into the city as Jesus was. In the coming days the Priests were examining the lambs to ensure that they were without blemish and perfect. In these 4 days the Pharisees were interrogating the Lamb of God to find blemish in him. They failed. Even Pilate had to admit "I find no fault in Him."

At the same time Roman soldiers were nailing Jesus to the cross, the priests were killing the lambs in the city. The priests were instructed not to break any bones of the sacrificial lambs, just as the Romans came to find Jesus dead and didn't need to break his bones. These parallels did not come by chance. They were all part of the glorious plan of our Father in Heaven. A Father who loves us so much that he would place the sins of the world on his only begotten Son for sacrifice.

Jesus was a sinless man. I know how horrible I feel when I sin. It makes me feel so terrible to know I sinned against God. I do it occasionally and it hurts, imagine if I had never sinned and suddenly all the sin of the world past, present, and future were on me. The anguish that Jesus must have felt at that time must have been unbelievable. But wait, it gets worse.

God has told us that he will never leave us and never forsake us. That is so comforting to know. Imagine if that comfort were taken away. What if you knew that He had forsaken you and told you that he can't even look at you? You and I would be crushed. That is exactly what happened on the cross. God won't forsake us or leave us, but he did not make that same promise to his Son. He cannot be in the presents of sin and His Son was made sin. Therefore the Lord couldn't even look at Jesus, then he said "why have you forsaken me?" We all know that Jesus went through tremendous physical suffering at the hands of the Romans and on the cross, but his spiritual suffering must have been even greater. Put the two together and Jesus suffered enough for the whole world...just as God had planned.

The whole time Jesus knew the unimaginable suffering that he would go through. He knew the very day that he was baptized by John. He knew when Satan offered Him the kingdoms of this world in the wilderness. He know at the last supper, and in the garden. His passion was to go through that suffering to save the world He loved. That understanding makes the life of Jesus all the more incredible to me. How he and the Father could love me so much that they were willing to do this for me is truly amazing!

Thank you Lord! Thank you! You are holy. I lift up your name above all names... JESUS! I love you Jesus. I know I'm not worthy of your love and grace, but you give anyway. Praise be to the one who gives and takes away!

Have a blessed Good Friday everyone,
Nigh

I just re-read this after posting and had a good cry. The Lord Jesus is so great! Amen!

Brother, I am ready to cry and cry again. I love this, I love JESUS! Our GOD is an awesome GOD and no man can comprehend how awesome He is but for whatever we can comprehend, it is overwhelming me with joy!

Jesus paid the price that we can never comprehend, the pain, sufferring and the hell we SHOULD have faced if it weren't to GOD's awesome grace on His beloved lost sheep, now saved and redeemed.

Amen :)

Praise the lord: May God bless you all... and keep you with his saveing grace and in his love always...

God bless

To sing of that day of what my Lord, my Saviour did for me. Oh glory and honour to my King! All praise to my Lord Jesus Christ.

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down:
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross
All who gather here by grace draw near
And bless Your name

Were the whole realm of Nature mine,
That were an offering far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all!

Amen brother. He went through all this willingly for me. I just can't find words to express what I want to say. What an awesome God.

Special, Spectacular Song

The following song, I think, is special & spectacular.
"I'm forgiven,
because You were foresaken,
I'm accepted,
You were condemned,
I'm alive and well, Your Spirit lives within me,
because You died and rose again.
Amazing love, how can it be,
that You, my King would die for me?
Amazing love, I know it's true,
and it's my joy to honor You,
in all I do I honor You!"

In response to Nigh's first question

My computer won't let me look stuff up while in here, thus don't count the following as fact until you verify it. I believe that ...

Christ came down the 1st time as a lamb,
left the tomb as the scape goat,
will come down a 2nd, as a lion, to judge.

The song's title is "Amazing Love". I don't know the composer's name, either, even though the worship team at my church has played and sung it often. It was one of the songs we did at our Good Friday evening service and it broke me.

His love is so awesome nad, puny as my worship is, I'm honored to be able to offer it to Him.

Making A Joyful Noise Unto the Lord

I'm 69 years old. I grew up in the Jazz age and was a young adult when Rock 'n Roll hit the music scene and I didn't like it. Rock 'n Roll seemed to me to be nothing more than a musical race between the band and the singer(s) to see who could get to the end of the song the fastest and the loudest with the fewest comprehendable words.
Then as an "old man" of 46, I came to Christ and found myself eventually in a church where the music is "contemporary". At first, I was quite leery of that. But, I decided to hang in there with it and before long I found that I could understand the words and that the performers actually had talent. I also found that they weren't racing the musicians to the end of the songs. I saw a genuine desire on the part of singers and musicians to worship God, a desire that was very contagious. The singers and musicians and the congregation (myself included) were being caught up in ecstatic worship at every service.
Another prejudice of mine regarding "contemporary" music was the amplification systems that were being used. Why did they always have to set the volume up so loud? I still question why that is done in secular music, but I think I understand why it is done in connection with praising our God.
As the worship songs touch the peoples' hearts, there comes a groundswell of emotion that cannot be contained. It starts with the singers and musicians and it rolls across the stage and through the congregation almost like a spiritual tsunami. And as the "tsunami" builds, things get LOUD!
I have a dear friend who attends the same church I attend. He loves the Lord and he loves this church we attend..........all except for one thing: the noisy worship. About three weeks ago when he complained, I said to him: "If you dislike noisy worship here on earth, you're not going to like heaven at all because we're going to be worshipping there 24/7 and it is going to be LOUD!"
I haven't heard any complaint from him since then.
