Modern day science is starting to make great strides in understanding mental health and it seems that the evidence is pointing towards mental health being no different from any other chronic illness, such as diabetes, heart condition or chrones disease. I believe that we should pray for it in exactly the same way.

Dear Lord God I pray for my poor brother Josh who is tormented by mental health problems. I pray therefore for a total invasion by the Holy Spirit, giving him control over his thoughts, helping him to make sense of the world around him and I pray the Lord that He will once again feel the peace, love and and joy of knowing you as his best friend, saviour, father, provider, comforter and all the other roles that you play in our lives. What joy immense comfort we take from that and from reading about you in the Bible.

We love you dearly Lord God.
