I have struggled with body dysmorphic disorder all of my adult life with varying intensities depending on my life circumstances. I was wondering if any of the members have struggled with this and if so I am interested in learning what has helped you. I'm interested in what God says about it as well. Thank you. :)

Is that like anorexia or any of that nature?

Welcome to Talk Jesus. I'm unsure what that is, but will pray you have eyes to see as God sees you.

Well I don't like the way I look either (or the sound of my voice).

But God looketh upon the heart. (So that's helpful.)

Body Dysmorphic Disorder is, at least in my case, is when a person takes a relatively small physical flaw or perceived flaw and it and blows it out of pa-portion. It can affect many areas of a person's life - social, economic and other relationships. It can cause much isolation and loneliness.

Hello Denise,
Welcome to this online community of Christian Believers, called Talk Jesus!
I hope you will find fellowship and growth in God's Word while you are here.

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. Philippians 3:20-21 NKJV

You might want to also read 1 Corinthians 15.
There is so much that we have to look forward to, and God's Word let's us know these promises that we can hold on to and be comforted.
And so I pray that you will find comfort in your life Denise, that none can take away.
In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

With the Love of Christ Jesus, once again be welcomed!
Nick
