Stephen tell me about born again am very interested
Hello mounty,
The phrase "being born again" is taken from the gospel of John ch 3 verses 1 - 17 It is Jesus who is speaking, and it is Jesus when answering a question says "
You must be born again" "that which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the spirit is spirit"
We must recognise that we are sinful, that we have a sinful nature, consequently we are without God and without hope. We must 'repent', a bible word which means turn away from sin, feeling remorse that we have offended Jesus who died on the cross for us. "Jesus died to save us from sin" He died that we might live. We need a new birth "
that which is born of the flesh is flesh........................"
We must then ask Jesus to save us from our sin. The bible word 'repent' means turn around and go in a new direction. When we become aware of our sinfulness, and we kneel down in prayer; when we are sorry for our sins; if we ask God to forgive us of our sins He will do it right there where we are, or where you are.
1 John ch 1 verse 9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
Having a spiritual birth, brings us into the family of God, and we are then Gods children, in a real sense, and a new relationship with Jesus.
This is very brief. Prayerfully read the few scriptures I have referred you to. Pray about your salvation as you read. Ask Jesus to help you........He will Come back to me...............
