How are we saved?

We are saved from sins by the blood of Christ (Matt. 26:28). In other words, the passion and death of Jesus bring us forgiveness of sins. This is true forgiveness, in which we the offenders are forgiven of our offenses by the compensation of Jesus the victim. This is also true love, in which Jesus gave of Himself completely so that we may have life (1John 4: 10). Therefore, to be saved we have to accept Jesus’ sacrifice by believing in it. To believe in it is to be born again in Jesus’ life (John3: 3-6) and live like Him (1John 2:5-6). This means that we must not hate our offenders and forgive them the way Jesus does, which is to compensate for offenses that our offenders commit against us by our own life. In simple words it means that we have to go out of our way to help our offenders, even to the extent of putting our life on the line. Jesus commands us to love others the way He loves us (John 16:12). Everyone who has this love is begotten of God and knows God (1John4: 7). Similarly, everyone who knows Him keeps His commandment (1John 2:3,4). On the other hand who ever hates his brother is in darkness (1John2: 11) and is a murderer, and therefore, has no eternal life (1 John 3:15). Furthermore, we cannot love God if we have hate in our heart for anyone (1John 4:20). Can we therefore, we saved by simply believing or proclaiming that Jesus is God if our life is not of His?

Thats right, I heard someone say the other day that forgiveness should be as natural as breathing to us. That made me think because that would mean as soon as someone hurt or offended us, we would naturally just love them with the Spirit of Christ which is within us, for God's Love is patient and kind... and we would be surely 'walking in the Spirit' then, wouldn't we? I so very often think how wonderfully patient and kind God is to me, it overwhelms me at times.

thats what i was wondering i believe the lord died on the cross for my sins and everyone elses and i came to the lord and prayed for forgiveness of my sins and i believe i have been forgiven but i know thats not enough i think you have to live like him everyday of you life and how do you know if your doing that?? you may think you are but what if your not i want to know for sure that when i die i will go to heaven , but how do you know for sure

We must be humble enough to know that we can always fall. But we must have faith, to know that as long as we continually make an attempt to be faithful to God, God will pull us out of trouble. Therefore, we must continually focus our attention on Jesus, and try to live like He did in every situation.

Phi 1:6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. (ESV)

Trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ all your days, you can rest assured that your Faith will be brought to completion in the Day of the Lord, that is when He returns and completion means eternal/everlasting life with Him.

There is nothing we can do pertaining to our salvation, for with man(human Kind) this is impossible, but thanks be to God for the Risen Lord Jesus Christ, He will assure us that we are saved by His action and deeds, and our faith in him and the gift of the Holy Spirit will lead and guide us all our days, until His Glorious return when He brings His reward with Him to share with us so that we may be with Him for all eternity.

Peace be with you,
John

I think that the question "How are we saved?" is answered clearly and concisely in Romans 10:9-11 :"For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, 'Anyone that believes in Him will not be disappointed'."

Why do we complicate this issue so much? Why do we listen to the enemy when he sows seeds of doubt? Keep it simple!
