Hi.. well i have a subject i would like to discuss.. J4JH

how can i live as a Christian in my society...
its hard and frustrating sometimes.. especially that its almost impossible to find people who think something like Christians and the most close to this also are very hard to talk with or too shy or i don't know.

its fun being teen but i would like to bring more for God.
i want to live as a good teen Christian as much as i can.

I have started this thread for you teens and youth. If you can come up with answers to this question and help each other out that would be really great.

There are so many helpful people around I am sure you can all help one another in your walk with Jesus.

God bless you j4jh for asking for this subject. :rainbow: :rose:

Re: How can I live as a Christian in my society?

JFJH, I've a couple of questions for you - Is there a youth group at your church? If so, does the youth pastor/leader truly love Jesus? Do the kids respect him/her as a leader?

If the answer to these three questions is "yes" then, by all means, join the group and participate with vigor. I say participate "with vigor" because most people tend to be shy in their teenage years. Don't sit on the sidelines and watch. To use my pastor's baseball metaphor, "Grab a glove and get in the game." That way developing as a Christian gets to be fun.

Does your church have any community outreach programs for the whole congregation - hot meals for homeless people, free groceries delivered to poor peoples' homes, visiting the elderly and infirm in nursing homes, etc.? If so, get involved in those things. They're fun, too!

Developing as a Christian is not a classroom activity. It involves doing the stuff that Jesus did (beside others that are doing it) under the guidance of leaders who've gone before you.

One final point: Avoid being a perfectionist. You'll drive yourself nuts. God knows that you are not flawless. He doesn't expect that of you.

Sincerely,

A 70 year old teenager

Well this is the thing.
I am the only true beliver in my city...
except maybe some freak Jehovah witness that i am also not sure about it..
my parents also dont allow me to be/act as christian so if i do stuff i really am doing them secretly and privately in my room or something.

the only place that is close enough for me to meet christians is in city that is far by one hour driving and i cant go yet.
also there are no youth groups as far as i know in the country except few in the big cities.

basicly i am alone.. there were someone intersted in christianity in my city but he left the city long ago. and he was an adult.

so basicly thanks for the ideas but i cant use them in real life..

but thanks for trying SLE

Sorry, J4JH. I didn't know you were from Israel. You do indeed have a problem. But, stay the course and keep petitioning God for help. If you have a Bible, read it as much as possible.

SLE

Your parents dont allow it? That is horrible. We all get pressed upon sometimes about our faith, but we need to go the distance. Best answer i can give is pray. All the time i run to this site and am not answered because only God has the answer.

SLE its okay.
and i do have a bible.. and one gospel..
i try to read them as much as i can ofcourse (also sometimes i read the bible online cuz its easier in english).
the problem is-
(also its for you Crazy4Christ)
that i am not allowed to practice my belife. also.. if i decide that i belive in christ its automaticlly change my status (for all the people who near me) that i am a "gentile" also in my ID card when i get older (18) i am not longer a part of the "jewish nation" and no longer a jew.

this why my family dont want me to practice or belive in christ. its like i am doing a disgrace for them or something like it also i am no longer a jew and we are long long generation of jews..

its kind of a complex issue :(.

also to practice or go to meeting and preaches for teens i need my parents to sign an aplication that they allow me to go!
also i need to have some transportation cuz its never close to my city.

people yet dont figure out that J4J's are already growing part in the country and its not a bad thing :(. also if i go to a preaching some way without my parents allow me it would be a crime for the pastors and preachers.
also i cant order without a permission any missionary books (even attended to youth, and yeah there are lots of books for christian youth here.)

God do helps many times but its still hard to keep walking the course of christian life and faith..

thanks for replying anyway.

Just live your FAITH bro!! by God's grace He'll be with You.. he'll find ways for evrythin... whew.. thats a pretty hard task but evrything happens for a reason.. sooner or later u'l see:).. God bless u ill be prying for u... live as wat God wants.. evrything that HE commands in the bible.. maybe some people in your society will see Jesus in you. somtyms also try to evangelize.. lets see:)

Hmmm thats a prediciment and a half isnt it???

it's a horrid worl we live in where kids are bound down by their own parents, but at that same time we need to be the ones teaching them a thing or two. : > my thoughts are you can only keep up the good work of praying and the Lord will come to your aid. : >

a good bible vs for you is.

Psalms, 46:10,
" Be Still and KNOW i am God."

just be still and know he lives. : >

he'll come to your aid in time buddy! just keep strong and be blessed!!!

Wow that is tough. JFJ is doing great things for the Jewish nation as a whole. A person CAN be a Jewish Christian....look at the Apostle Paul! All the advice I can give is stay strong. Pray pray and pray some more. You have something truely amazing. You have eternal life, given to you by God the father, through the shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ. Without Christ there is no salvation, jew or gentile.

So take comfort in that. You have eternal life!

You can do all things through Christ who strenthens you!

yes i know that as a christian it is hard to live for God and still be a teen i am still in that phase, but this is what i do i do not associate myself with negative people i do not sit with people that will just bring my religion down. i get closer to those christians who think like me say what i say and who have the same vision that i have and that christ the bible says in psalms 1:1 blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path where sinners walk, nor sit down where the scornful gather.

that tells you wont be able to walk as a teenager for christ if you still want to keep your old friends that you use to go party with, do wrong stuff with you have to change that type of crowd the bible also says once a man is in christ he is a new creator behold old things have passed away and everything has become brand new.

Anointed to stand

Hello every one,

I believe that even though this world today trys to make young people feel small because we believe in the truth, that we should still stand.
It is hard, but as much as there are people trying to deflate the Gospel, there are many more Who are crying out for the truth.

The Bible says in isiah 61 v1, The Spirit of Lord is upon me. Becuase He has Anointed me to me to preach good tidings unto the meek; to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.

We Are the true Anointed of God and a royal Priesthood .

In aswer to the Question, can be a difference in our society by just being that light. That couldbe by the smile we wear, saying good morning, God bless you, what ever it may be just as long as that person can say to some one; " you know what, today a young Man or Woman told me Jesus Loves me" or " they smiled at me that made my day" or "what is it that that person has that can make them smile the way they do, I want some of that"

Try i it Works, and just see how good it makes you feel. by just a small gesture, you may have made a BIG difference in someone else's life.
Thats ONE MORE SOUL for the Kingdom of God and One more Jewel for your Crown.:ip:

last point

1 Peter 2 vs 9
But we are a Royal Priesthood, an Holy nation, a Peculiar people;

i hope this helps!!

thanks to every one that sent a message. each message in is unique way actually helped me in some stuff i go through in the last few days.
thanks for every one who pray for me and pray for those who are like me.

just a p.s
to the one who mentioned PAUL.
paul is seemed here by the ones who go against christianity here as the one who was actually the one that made christianity unjewish and new religion. some see it for it as a hero that saved the judaism pure and some see him as an evil because of his acts and also claim that HE - TAUGHT that the acts that people should do are not that important and like said that shouldnt be done. i mean mm i forgot the right term for it in english but like commands and stuff to do that jews try to keep till this day.

mostly peter seemed to be more jewish christian than paul..

(just a point that might interest people here, that i wanted to share).

Re: How can I live as a Christian in my society?

Apparently those people who say that Paul taught that acts are not important have either misread or avoided the central point of Ephesians 2:8-10, for Paul did write that it is through God's grace that we are saved; that it is not of our works. But he also wrote (in verse 10) that we were created in Christ Jesus for the specific purpose of doing good works.

When we ask Jesus to be our Lord and our Savior, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to do good works that God has prepared ahead of time for us to do.

Well the problem is, that people that claim that paul said that acts are no important and should not be done or something like that, its by jews who go against christianity.. so they dont belive in anything you pointed out here.. so this is actually the problem..
and trust me many people gave them scriptual proofs why they wrong and still they go with this "point".

For such people, its like the old joke says: "My mind is made up. Don't confuse me with facts!"

SLE

thank you for your words of encouragement. they have really uplifted me and i have been able to use your kind words to encourage others.

some good news:
it seems that my father DID watched a good report on tv about messianic jews. (was launched like 2 weeks ago and made a new good light about this growing culture here though some confuse us with "watchtower"/J witness)

well.. he was confused again (though i told him 2 years ago i am practicing this faith and want to go to a community and then all this stuff happened) he is seemed to forget (?) about what i told him and well he was amazed. that this people do the "brit mila" (forgot this term in english again) which jews do in their 8th day after birth. and i guess he was sorry for the young kids who suffer heresies and curses in school.. and more he was amazed that this guys serve in military proudly and even go to the elite departments..
like the sea comando etc.

i think if he keep all of this in mind he will become softer in his heart towards my faith and maybe he will be saved as well.

btw in the report it was showned how many people give their lives to God.. and how they meet and celebrate in very nice decent way (many people who heared or see such things for the first time are pretty shocked in a good way and some what wish they could be part of all of this to!! it seemed in christian forums here and even as reply's for the report that got into the internet aswell).

i think that good stuff happen now here for the true belivers...

Re: How can I live as a Christian in my society?

That is awesome news, j4jh! I will keep praying for you. BTW, I think the English word for "brit mila" is probably "circumcision."

"I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: 'The deliverer will come from Zion; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.(Is 59:20-21, 27:9, Jer 31:33-34)'

(Romans 11:25-27)
