Hello,
This is a topic that is very confusing to me and hard to wrap my head around. This is a topic that everyone has different answers on. If you google this, you'll find websites with people telling you "pray this prayer and you'll be saved!"
or repent. I used to spend my time a couple of years ago praying prayers like that, and guess what? Nothing happened. I just thought if I prayed this prayer I be in the clear and my life would change but nothing did.

If you google this on youtube, you get the same results. No one tells you anything. They just say pray this and pray that.
Or something about God's grace. I'm now starting to read the Bible which is something I given up for a very long time.
I read somewhere in Mathews that you need fruit to prove repentance. Does repentance come first before being saved?
I'm sorry if I come off offensive but this a topic I never understood thus it frustrates me because when I attempt to learn, everyone will tell you something different, and you end up confuse.

No one ever told me you had to change your lifestyle to be saved. It was always, just pray this and you'll be good.
I'm genuinely trying to learn what salvation actually is but it frustrates me when each answer is different depending on the person. I never got "its by God's grace". So does that mean I can live any way I want and just wait on God to change my life because that is the impression I been getting for years by people who tell you to pray specific prayers and never tell you anything else.

"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:9

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. " Matt 10:22

And how do we do all of these things? Details and more details, but simplicity is...

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

First welcome to Talk Jesus @SmileyJanell !!!
Awesome to welcome you with the knowledge that you are seeking clarity of "Salvation"!
For what you are seeking is the Good News that was for the entire world to hear!!
The Savior of the World has been Born!!!! Jesus Christ!!!
Luke 2:10-11

What an announcement that was!!!! Only God knew how it would change our past, present and future!!!!!

At the end of this. I've copied what I place in the Bibles that I give out as I walk through this life. I hope it explains some, and if it gives rise to other questions. You're in the right place to have "someone" help you to find the answer to them, or at least point you in the right direction!

As for the variety of praying. Just picture it more as a conversation from your heart to His! You can read the testimonials of different Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus here at TJ and you'll see that the situations/words maybe different, but the common thread is that it's between them and God. I truly hope that it will be between you and God as well!!!!

Once again be welcome to this online community of Christian Believers Janell!!
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Salvation

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:4-5, 8-9

Grace: good will, loving-kindness, favor: of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues

Faith: the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things, the provider and bestower of eternal salvation through Christ

I pray that you might find this not as a chance occurrence but one of design. That God has chosen you to call at this very moment one of His Children through Christ Jesus. In his Holy Name I pray that. Amen.

Finding salvation, hmm depends on your definition of sin.

What do you think sin is.

Sis, John the Baptist said it best; who has warned you vipers of the wrath to come? Bring forth fruits worthy of repentance CRYING OUT Abba Father.

Sis, many honor the Lord with their lips, but their heart is far from Him.

Only from the heart God hears us.

Nothing happened, you said. Well what did you do different?

Humble yourself, admit your a sinner and ask God to create a clean heart in you. Ask, believing you receive, He will give it to you.

I walk with God step for step, heartbeat for heartbeat, He is my best friend; in Him I trust.

All praise glory and honor be unto God Amen
